Remote Collaboration Effectiveness
Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
In the general use, TeamViewer was most effective when it came to trotting troubleshooting since our IT personnel could solve problems without physically attending to the site. It is also useful for those project reviews, for example, we can also share the screens and work on them simultaneously. However, it is not very suitable for serving as a long-term monitoring device or for remote work that occurs more often; there are probably devices for it.
Pros
- Operation on both the desktop and the mobile versions
- Simultaneous management of files while the connection is made for a remote session
- Provide secure access of computers when the administrator is not present to perform the necessary maintenance on the servers
Cons
- Some delay in sharing a high definition view on the main display of a projector or an LED screen
- Restricted possibilities to adjust layout and design of the user interface
- Specifically, the channel can be noisy, and the audio quality may fluctuate in different situations.
- The costs of traveling to support the IT will reduce as there will be static locations always available.
- A higher speed of problem solving in technical matters
- Increased coordination with team members working in other locations
From our own experience, within the first 3 months since the implementation of TeamViewer, we were able to realize a rather tangible notion of the effects on the economy. The expenses incurred on travel were drastically cut, and there was tangible evidence of efficiency in IT support.
The feature of sharing screens, as well as the ability to transfer files, applications, and even control various gadgets, has led to the enhancement of the work performance and speed of our group.

On the security front, we have gone all out supporting TeamViewer’s security systems. To support security of accounts, we implement single sign-on with our current identity management system; they require two-factor authentication for access. The approval by the IT department of the software to manage sensitive data was greatly informed by the SOC 2 certification.
