Overall Satisfaction with Cision Communications Cloud

It was being used by only the Marketing Communications Department. We used it to monitor what was going on in the media, as it pertained to our organization and industry, as well as our competitors. It helped us see who/what publications were talking about us and publishing news related to us, including our press releases.

  • Monitors news articles and mentions of our organization.
  • Provides us with a daily email summary of the articles we were mentioned in.
  • Provides us with a list of media/press and their contact information.
  • The cost was way too high for what it was. Other similar software was less than half the cost.
  • Could include social media monitoring (without additional cost).
  • Sometimes unrelated, non-relevant articles were included. Other times, relevant ones were missed.
Originally we selected Cision (TrendKite)* because we thought it was the superior option. We just made the switch over to Meltwater due to cost. It seems that Meltwater performs equally as well as Cision at a fraction of the cost.
Well suited for a large organization that has an abundance of money to spend on their media monitoring. Not well suited for an organization like mine, where we have a decent budget, but don't want to unnecessarily spend extra money on something that we can get elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.

Transition from TrendKite to Cision Communications Cloud

The support itself was decent, but I did not like that our contract was up for auto-renewal (and you had to write an email saying you'd like to opt-out) and this was never well-communicated to me.
