Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

The services and offerings are great, as noted previously, there seems to be high turnover in the HR manager/Payroll coordinator positions, the first company representative contacts. Difficult to develop a relationship, knowledge of their customer when they are not in the position very long. The technology platform is good, when complete, appears to be very user friendly and provides quick access to system tools and information.
As the HR lead for our organization, TriNet's on boarding process, site tutorials and assistance by HR manager/Payroll coordinators as needed has made use of the system very easy and functional. I am not the most advanced when it comes to technology, TriNet's system is intuitive, with checks and balances which eliminates costly input errors. As an employee, the system streamlines the initial benefits selection process and the annual open enrollment process. Monitoring and requesting leave time is easy, efficient and recorded in the profile, no paper reports to manage. Payroll checks are informative, easy to read and timely. We have not missed a scheduled payroll.
TriNet serves the whole organization, a total of 4 employees, is the HR and benefits, including retirement accounts manager/provider. Works well and is an economical and efficient option to hiring staff for these purposes. One stop shopping for the employees, system is user friendly, intuitive and serves the organization and employees well. Health, dental, life and related insurance options are substantial, meets employee needs.

Pros

  • The payroll entry and reporting are easy and provide information for accounting on a timely basis. Reporting on compensation and benefits and deductions for management and board reporting are good.
  • The benefits offerings are vast and cover, if not exceed, the needs of the employees.
  • 401(k) and Roth IRA offerings, via TransAmerica offer diversity of investment options at competitive rates. The ease of sign up and management via the TriNet site makes access very easy.

Cons

  • As the operations officer, I have authority for inputting leave time into the payroll system. I do not approve leave time. When the requests and the supervisor approves leave, I am not notified that approved time is pending. It would be good if the person with authority/access to input payroll received notices of approved leave. As it is I have to sign in to the system to check.
  • Seems there is a lot of turnover in the HR manager, payroll coordinator positions, when my representative is out, while back up representatives are responsive if often takes a long time to get issues addressed.
  • The TriNet employee hand book revised, but there was no information specifying the revised language, policies etc. I inquired about the details, it took several emails to explain my question and the need for it, 3-4 days of TriNet research, to tell me the section (open enrollment) but not the specific revised language. I think these details should be available at the time of the revision(s).
  • TriNet is our HR, payroll, benefits, and retirement service provider, the payroll system is accurate, timely. Benefits (H-L-D) offerings are top of the line, enrollment and management of benefits very easy and efficient.
  • TriNet replaces the need for additional administrative staff, addressed HR compliance at the federal and state level.
  • We have not used the tools for organizational or individual performance planning, monitoring or measurement, nor have we used the recruiting, hiring tools, may do so in the future.
I have not used other such products. We are a start up company, TriNet was vetted and selected by the organizers/funders of the company prior to staff being hired. I have been please with TriNet, as the chief operating officer and as an employee.
As previously indicated, for a small professional staff, TriNet's HR, payroll and benefits services are efficient and economical. I have referred an other small (6 employees) to TriNet, I was told by the CEO that the initial discussion with the TriNet rep. regarding services, processes, fees...did not go well, there was no follow up by TriNet and the company went elsewhere.
