Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

My front line contacts at TriNet have always been friendly and respond not only in a timely fashion, but let me know up front if they will be delayed in responding and why. Staying informed on issues is critical in payroll/HR and they do a great job.
Since they have updated their website, the usability has improved. I have yet to see the updated knowledge base/support ticketing system to know how well it works. Hoping it will be better than the old.
We use TriNet for payroll for our US employees.

Pros

  • Takes care of all tax withholding and reporting.
  • TriNet support team handles the majority of HR issues related to payroll and benefits.
  • Web and app interfaces continue to improve.

Cons

  • Old reporting tools can be confusing to navigate (but that's under construction).
  • Escalating issues above front line support can be difficult to get timeline responses.
  • It's not the cheapest solution in the industry.
  • It takes the stress of payroll tax collection, reporting and compliance out of our accounting responsibilities.
  • It provides a great employee interface for reviewing past and current pay information.
TriNet was already in place at the time of my employment and I have not yet looked at alternatives as it is currently doing what we need it to do.
TriNet is great for a small/growing company that doesn't yet have a full accounting team in order to dedicate a person to HR/Payroll.
