Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

We have been pleased, overall. The only negative experience we've had is that there was an employee on temporary leave when we first migrated to TriNet and we couldn't find a way for TN to cover that individual on benefits until they had returned from leave. Luckily that individual was able to access benefits elsewhere, but it seems that it shouldn't have to be that way.
The mobile app is great for my team to be able to check things like pay dates, and their current PTO balance. (This means I don't have to answer the question for them!) The new user interface is great overall and finding what you need is fairly intuitive. Once you find it -the information is presented in large and easy to understand charts, graphs, etc. This was particularly helpful when tracking my team's progress during open enrollment. From an administrator's perspective, I find the app to be of limited use. (Can't access reports, can't look up employees, can't process or update payroll, etc.)
Our organization partners with TriNet for all of our benefits, HR compliance, and payroll needs. We are a lean organization of 14 and TriNet allows us on-call HR compliance expertise, clean and smooth payroll processes, and a myriad of benefits that we would not be able to offer to our employees otherwise.
  • Our employees can choose from an incredibly wide selection of benefit options, more than I've seen from other organizations our size.
  • Our TriNet associate is quick to respond to questions and frequently reviews our team to help ensure that we are in compliance across the board.
  • Processing payroll is simple.
  • Employees have access to their own dashboards to check on paychecks, PTO balance, health benefits, etc. The interface is much more user-friendly than others I have seen.
  • I wish I could process payroll via my mobile app when I am traveling.
  • We have not yet implemented TriNet "time" but the team member who tried to set it up found it incomplete for our needs (This was a few months ago.)
  • The TriNet "hire" platform is not set up for internal hiring and thus falls short of being a true Applicant Management System that I can use across the board. Would be nice to have this functionality.
  • Helps us keep in HR compliance.
  • Helps us focused on more strategic aspects of HR and People development, not just the operational and administrative tasks.
  • Gives me confidence in the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll.
TriNet is well suited for smaller organizations like ours that just don't have the capacity to bring this kind of expertise in-house. As an executive at a small nonprofit organization, I appreciate that TriNet lets me focus on more strategic aspects of our HR and People Development, and on achieving our mission overall.
