Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

Payroll, benefits offerings, PTO management, employee information management

Pros

  • Communicating compliance updates/information with the company administrators on a weekly basis
  • Providing a way for us, as a small business, to offer benefits to our employees
  • The platform is user friendly and easy to navigate

Cons

  • Sometimes with new features/tools, it seems that they have not been thoroughly tested from a user's perspective
  • I find the reporting/analytics tool to be confusing and not easy to use
  • Sometimes the customer service is not what we would like - sometimes takes several back and forth communications to get a complete answer/resolution
  • We have grown from about 10 employees when we started using TriNet to about 35 now and we would not have been able to manage payroll or offering benefits to these employees without TriNet
  • We have relied on TriNet for information as employee questions have come up for the first time - for example, we looked to TriNet for information and guidance when an employee asked for accommodations under the ADA. They provided some forms and guidelines/checklists on how to address this with the employee.
I find the platform to be very usable for the majority of my tasks. However, I have not used another similar platform to use as a basis for comparison. I do find the reporting/analytics tool to be difficult to use.
Our satisfaction with the support has waned over the years. When we first started using TriNet we were assigned a specific person as our contact for all questions. She was wonderful! However, we were then moved to several different contacts who did not meet our expectations. Then, TriNet introduced the Connect email and phone number for all questions/issues - since then we have had definite issues with getting complete and accurate answers to our questions the first time.
I think we utilized some articles and guidelines during the main years of the pandemic, 2020-2021, but nothing recently I don't think.

We like that it is accessible for a smaller company like ours - it provides a way for us to handle payroll, offer benefits, and manage employee information. So the services and platform itself has been what we need. However, the customer service is not always to our satisfaction.
