Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers
I've been trying to find a good communications tool (WebEx-like) for internal and external communications, recording conference calls etc. I'm one of the decision makers along with another manager at our company.
- To compare products
I had a bunch of ideas in my head along with couple other alternatives to seek feedback on; so I used TrustRadius to get a better idea of user feedback.
I also read reviews of products I already reviewed myself, to see if people share my perspective. If no one else complains about something I complain about in a product, chances are, I'm not using it well!

[I look for] Detailed feedback, supported with examples to showcase experiences. Generic reviews aren't very useful.
When I buy a [consumer] product, I look at reviews on Amazon as well as other available platforms so I know what to expect. When it comes to software, it's the same thing. I'd like to have a better understanding of the software, not just through demos but through actual users. I take the reviews seriously. Having reviews cuts down trial time and me helps choose - or at least puts things in better perspective.
Pros
- I prefer to submit my reviews anonymously but really appreciate when people disclose their identity. Puts things in greater perspective.
- I also like the fact that TrustRadius mentions what size/kind of company the reviewer works for and in what capacity. A product might be great for a 5000 employee retail company, but even if they aren't happy with it, that may not be the case for me.
- While Amazon, Walmart, etc. get hit with reviews from bots, I don't believe it's the same for TrustRadius. I feel more trusting.
Cons
- Vendor or reseller feedback [on reviews] would be interesting. Not sure if this is already in place and I missed it...
As I mentioned before, I always do my due diligence with reviews. For example, if a product has lots of reviews on Amazon.com, I always cross check it with Fakespot.com to see if the reviews were likely fake. I don't feel the need to do this here; I can see the reviews are too complete to be submitted by bots, the questions are also multilayered which makes the reviews more likely to be written by humans.
No [reviews did not affect my interactions with vendors], but if we were to buy a product through direct vendors, I'd totally bring up the most frequently mentioned negative feedback. We usually make the decision and go buy it directly from websites.
