Overall Satisfaction with Tungsten Power PDF
I use Power PDF to compare and edit PDFs. The problem this product addresses is identifying changes between rounds of creative, QAing a proof of the material before it goes out the door against what I provided our production team. I am also able to easily make edits to a PDF.
Pros
- Comparing one PDF to another PDF
- Editing a document
- Easily identifying changes between documents without false changes you see in other programs
Cons
- Layout shifts in a compare - when selecting to compare text only, a shift in where the text falls would be better identified in some other format
- load time for opening the application
- comparing the document - save as file name - if it could include a shortened description that reflects the documents rather than a alpha
- resource savings
- cost savings
- time savings
My experience was positive - I have been able to identify changes that would have otherwise been missed, caught errors in the document and edited when needed. This tool is so efficient that it saves hours of proofreading and resources to QA.
These two programs are very similar in many ways - editing a document, splitting a document, converting a document to another format and creating a form. Where this product stands out is in the compare feature. It's night and day. This feature is saves resources, time and catches errors that are often missed by human error. Where this program lacks, is in the comment functionality. Unless you have another Power PDF user, they are not as easy to find or read.
Do you think Tungsten Power PDF delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with Tungsten Power PDF's feature set?
Yes
Did Tungsten Power PDF live up to sales and marketing promises?
Yes
Did implementation of Tungsten Power PDF go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Tungsten Power PDF again?
Yes
I work in marketing, so there are occasions where I need to edit an existing document created in another platform. Each group of text has it's own box which is nice when your placement or text wrap changes (as opposed to one large block of text for the entire page in Acrobat). Otherwise, the editor is comparable to acrobat.
