Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

UltiPro is being used for:

  • HRIS for global organization (USA, UK, Brazil, UAE, Singapore, Japan and Australia).
  • Benefits administration and payroll for US.
  • Global reporting, employee self-service, etc.
  • Access to data and reporting tool.
  • Payroll processing.
  • Benefits administration.
  • Ease of use (intuitive).
  • Ease of implementation.
  • Ease of upgrades and system administration.
  • Up-time.
  • Connecting global data to US data (employee data resides in different tables).
  • Lack of validation tables for user-defined fields.
  • The web-based version still does not have all of the features of the traditional "back-office" version.
Excellent product. I think UltiPro is appropriate for organizations of all sizes and geographic scope that require an HR-only solution. Ultimate Software offers all of the modules (performance management, recruiting, succession planning, etc.) that one would expect from the better known brands, but at a fraction of the cost and a much faster/easier implementation process.

UltiPro Implementation

UltiPro Training

  • Online training
  • In-person training
Online training is cost-effective, convenient, and efficient for training on very specific topics. We have had a very positive experience with Ultimate's online training services. However, if the topic is more general and requires more interaction then I would suggest in-person training as online training is not efficient in this manner. This statement is not unique to Ultimate.
My personal experience with the in-person training is somewhat dated, but I found the instructors to be knowledgeable in the product/module and adept at managing the different levels/skills in the class. My only complaints at the time was the lack of availability of in-person training on the west coast and the hardware in the training rooms was horribly outdated.

Configuring UltiPro

UltiPro Support

This area has seen a lot of improvement recently, especially with the expansion of the customer success manager role and the rapid response line. Submitting a ticket and waiting for a response can be maddening, especially when it's a payroll related issue and deadlines are looming. Tickets still get "lost" between different support tiers and sometimes ownership is not taken for things that fall through the cracks.

Relationship with Ultimate Software

I have dealt with a gentleman named Scott Mertzel over the years and he is a first class account rep.
