Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use UltiPro for our payroll, HR and reporting needs across multiple companies with various business needs and requirements. The core strength of UltiPro is the payroll knowledge and expertise. Upon implementation 8 years ago, we noticed major improvements in our data quality and assurance that we are compliant with payroll regulations. We have implemented several HR products (Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Management) to address our HR service needs across many locations across 12+ states in the US. The business intelligence tool allows us to share data across the organization in a way we were unable to in the past.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Payroll - compliant, good canned reports.
Reporting - Cognos is a powerful tool that allows you to provide solutions to your customers - if the data is there, it can be captured in a report.
Onboarding - The tool allows us to reduce paper and improve communication to internal resources and management of expectations related to hiring employees.

Cons

Learning about how features could be implemented for your organization as soon as they are available.
Transition from back office tool to web based tool requires patience as many features aren't immediately available.
UltiPro's growth has challenged the availability of resources related to support and building a strong relationship management with your immediate support personnel.

It has improved tremendously the last 3 years. It was a big area of improvement and now is a strength.

In-Person Training

They have in-person classes available if you need that type of environment to learn. With the improved on-line training it has not been as necessary for our team to utilize.

UltiPro Support

Support Rating

It really depends on who your dedicated support person is and the amount of experience they have. They have made steady improvements over the past 6 years but still there are areas of improvement.

Relationship with Ultimate Software

Post-Sale Experience

Robbin has been very good about communicating updates and does a nice job of being very transparent with her communication. I feel she takes the time to listen to our questions, researches the situation and then responds accordingly. We have been a customer for over 8 years so the sale isn't new but we have only been working with Robbin for a short time and she is doing well to meet our expectations.
