Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance
The Unitrends appliance has been a great asset to the IT department with servicing the data backup and recovery needs for the entire organization.
- We have a multitude of operating systems and both virtual and physical servers that are backed up, and the Unitrends appliance is able to back up all of them.
- The data restore process is simple and has always been reliable.
- The data backup process is extremely fast where we are able to back up both virtual and physical servers in both our buildings within a very aggressive time schedule since we are very nearly a 24x7 environment.
- I would like to see added functionality in the appliance where you could restore a server to work on the Unitrends appliance for disaster recovery purposes.
- Would like the agent upgrade feature to be more reliable when upgrading the agents on the servers.
- Would like to be able to acknowledge and delete error messages from the appliance since some errors are informational versus something actually being wrong.
- Would like live snapshots throughout the day versus daily backups where a file can be restored throughout the day.
- It has greatly improved restore time of entire servers and files within a very short time versus with tape backup it could sometimes take a day or two to restore.
- The cloud backup option has eliminated the need for storing physical backups offsite and has eliminated the offsite storage cost.
