Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

We use WatchGuard Network Security at all our sites and also customer locations as the primary firewall. We have fireboxes deployed at sites with more than 1000+ users and smaller sites that only have 10-20 users.

Pros

Cons

  • Better cloud management / central management for multi site
  • Improve some of the subscription services
  • WSM UI update, looks like 2000 program
  • ROI on WG is great. Saving a lot upfront and subscription compared to others
Yes, the simplified deployment approach makes setup a lot faster from an admin perspective and a technical perspective.
Honestly, the ease of setup and simplicity in the setup is wayyyyy better than Fortinet. Things just *work*. You don't need to get into CLI to get your site to site working. The initial setup wizard leaves you at a VERY good spot to get up and running and then season to your taste.

Any business that is looking for a high-performance network security appliance. They have solutions for all sizes, and the security platform is pretty decent. Troubleshooting config is so much easier than on Fortinet or SW. Performance /$ is top-notch, and the UI is straightforward and logical and doesn't involve three extra steps to do one.
