Overall Satisfaction with WooCommerce

As a baby apparel manufacturer distributor, we use WooCommerce as our forward facing e-commerce to the retail space. WooCommerce does a good job, but its strength is also a weakness.
  • There are hundreds if not thousands of plug-ins. This lets you customize WooCommerce to meet you specific needs.
  • WooCommerce is very inexpensive to free for both the core system and most of the plug-ins.
  • Want to go "custom", finding a consultant/developer is quite easy, finding a really good one, a little to lot more difficult
  • The more plug-ins, the slower your server becomes.
  • The more plug-ins, the greater a chance they won't play nicely together
  • The more plug-ins, the greater the chance that the publisher of the plug-in will disappear and leave you in a lurch.
  • We have no brick and mortar stores. We sell through multiple channels, with WooCommerce being one. We will see a positive ROI by end of year on development costs.
Starting off, great product. But should your store take off, it might behoove you to move to a system which is more tightly built and configured for both the transactional as well as speed.
