WooCommerce Delivers But With Pitfalls
Overall Satisfaction with WooCommerce
We use WooCommerce for one of our e-commerce checkout platforms on one of our websites. We were looking to integrate an e-commerce solution with Wordpress, and this one seemed to be the most widely used plugin, as well as the most stable. It also has a variety of features that allow us to customize the product, shipping, and checkout options. We also integrated other plugins that work well with WooCommerce.
Pros
- Ease of install
- Works well with other plugins
- Is updated regularly
- Offers a variety of product, shipping, and checkout solutions
Cons
- Too much bloated code
- The code runs on every page of the website
- The coupon code options are limited
- Easy to get the storefront up and running
- Order management is super easy
- Bloated code has caused us to install other caching plugins just to stop the slow page loads
We love the functionality of Wordpress itself, so that's why we ended up using WooCommerce to do checkout instead of going over to the Shopify platform. Wordpress allows us to do so much more with the backend code and customization of our website. We were not impressed with the limited functionality that Shopify presented to us in regards to regular pages.
