Overall Satisfaction with WP Engine

We use WP Engine as our primary host for our website and for many of our client websites as well. We are an agency partner and work closely alongside them to provide the best quality WordPress hosting with a fully managed service that provides best-in-class security and performance, along with great support.

Pros

  • Top notch support for their customers and especially their partners.
  • Listen well to feedback and constructive criticism.
  • Daily automated backups.
  • Fantastic smart plugin manager solution.
  • Enterprise-level security.

Cons

  • Cloudflare integration could expose more capabilities from Cloudflare that Enterprise customers might find useful.
  • More all included Enterprise hosting packages rather than add-on piece meal pricing.
  • Better ways for granting agencies access to client accounts for adding and removing developers.
  • WP Engine provides worry free maintenance and security solutions due to their managed service reducing overhead on managing servers.
  • WP Engine offers solutions for automating a lot of maintenance tasks that would normally require a development team to accomplish, reducing the hours needed to support a site.
  • WP Engine makes site transfers and migrations a breeze by all of their built in tools. Tasks that would take significantly longer on other platforms take a lot less time on WP Engine.
  • WP Engine's local development software saves time on setting up local environments for developers.
Their interface has improved a lot over the years, and they are always accepting feedback on how to make it better. The main reason I didn't go all the way to 10 is that I still think the way agencies are added to client accounts could be an improved experience, but I've been using the system for years, and it has only gotten better with time.
WP Engine is the preferred platform among all the competition I've worked with. Their support is second to none, as is their dedication to their customers and partners, which, more than anything, is the key difference I see vs other organizations. They are best in class, top-notch security, and are always innovating.
