Overall Satisfaction with Wrike
We're a global Marketing department that has had a hard time collaborating together, coordinating marketing efforts, and tracking work. Cue Wrike. We have been using Wrike for a few years now to put in requests with service teams (content, graphics, etc.), for setting up marketing campaigns, and better collaborate with each other. We use it to cross tag work across various different teams.
Pros
- Contextual collaboration - bringing people from different teams in together and having them know exactly what their contribution needs to be
- Proofing/reviewing work - approval and proofing features are extremely helpful especially when we expect this from folks who aren't in Wrike
- Creating plans for repetitive work - otherwise called blueprints, we can create these templates and trigger them to get started on projects and tasks
- Request forms - capturing details of requests and connecting folks with the right team(s) to get the work done
- Data visualization - dashboards have been newly improved over the past year and are more powerful than ever
Cons
- Automations - while they constantly improve this, there are still some basic automation capabilities that I'd love to see within Wrike
- Messy - it can get rather messy, especially when working with thousands of tasks
- Wrike Analzye - while it is a powerful feature in Wrike to take data visualization to the next level (beyond simple dashboarding), it's hard to learn and navigate (and usually very slow)
- Better organization of tasks
- Giving oversight to upcoming deliverables, especially with calendars
- Getting work out quicker
- Time saved through @mentioning and tagging vs. reaching out to others via Teams or email
Automations help us reduce the amount of manual upkeep. They help us notify assignees/user groups the moment a new request comes in, cross-tag to relevant folders depending on custom field values, and assign the right folks on any given piece of work - to name a few examples! It's been especially valuable in changing statuses depending on certain actions; for example, automatically marking a parent item as complete once all subitems are done.
Generative AI has also been introduced within Wrike, but I have yet to try it!

I have a soft spot for Jira since I used it for 5 years (compared to Wrike that I've been using for over a year now). The automation is a lot more intuitive and complex on Jira and allows for more potential compared to Wrike. I was given a good comparison of the two: Wrike is like Jira for marketers.
