Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent

Xactly Incent is used by our company to administer the compensation plans for our Intelligence vertical. Using Incent has provided a platform for us to deploy systematically scalable solutions which simplify the administration of our plans. The use of Incent also provides us with key data points which are used in downstream reporting tools and management dashboards.
  • Economies of Scale - With Incent a plan is built once, and then it does not matter if you have 1 or 1,000 employees running on the plan. If the underlying calculations are accurate for one individual they will be for the rest as well.
  • Plan Customization - In a global environment where a sales organization can have very different goals, approaches, and methodologies depending on region, product, or team, it is important to have a range of compensation plans available to motivate in different ways. Incent provides the means to create almost any type of plan imaginable as long as it can be defined by specific rules of operation.
  • Troubleshooting - Incent is very good at crunching numbers, however when those numbers do not add up to what you are expecting, the troubleshooting process can be cumbersome.
  • Plan Administration - Once a plan is fully built there is almost no ongoing maintenance, however the initial buildout is not always intuitive. This is something that Xactly is actively working on improving, so, looking forward to the new process.
  • Reduction of plan administration.
  • Reduction of Excel based commission tracking.
  • Unification of commission calculations into a single team.
Performance analytics and benchmarking allow us to track year over year performance and align it with the total compensation model used. With these insights we can track total cost of sale alongside performance to plan which let us see if we are properly incentivizing our sales teams.
We do not utilize other Xactly offered solutions at this time.
We do not have a direct integration between Xactly and any of our other platforms. We do our data management in an in-house system then utilize an Xactly hosted FTP to supply our sales data for integration through Xactly Delta and Xactly Connect processes.
Incent is our source of record for both Sales Credits and Quotas. We feed this data downstream to our management dashboards which are used by our sales organization leadership teams in their day-to-day and roadmap planning.
Incent is a great tool for the administration of group and rule based compensation plans. This means that each plan has specific criteria which apply in all situations in order to attain not only sales credit assignment but also the final calculation of the payment due. This also applies where employees can be grouped onto specific plans by some common metric, i.e. same position or same coverage.

Where Incent does not work well is for subjective commissions. This would be in cases where every deal sold by a rep needs to be treated differently, or every rep has their own compensation scheme, or compensations schemes are subject to multiple changes throughout the year.
