Overall Satisfaction with Xero

The new system is inefficient and cumbersome. When entering payments, I can no longer use the Tab key to navigate between fields, nor can I manually enter the date or account code. Previously, the process was entirely keyboard-based, but now it requires both keyboard and mouse interactions, significantly slowing down my workflow. This is especially frustrating when entering multiple payments for a single invoice, which is the case for all of my invoices.Additionally, the new interface is visually unappealing and less efficient. The previous version was more streamlined and occupied less screen space, making it much easier to work with.It is extremely disappointing that despite ongoing customer complaints on Xero Central for over a year, this change was still implemented. The original deadline was already postponed due to concerns, yet the decision was made to move forward with a system that was already functioning effectively. Customer feedback across the community overwhelmingly reflects this sentiment.I am now reconsidering our organization’s use of this product and will be discussing alternatives with our leadership. Additionally, I am actively sharing my experience through peer reviews on platforms like TrustRadius. I have lost trust in this software.

Pros

  • Creating bills is easy
  • Manual journal is nice
  • Fixing errors is easy, plus gives detailed info on which user did what.
  • Very low cost, get what you pay for

Cons

  • Setting our own fiscal calendar is not available, so for every return or P&L, I have to manually adjust dates.
  • Remittance information on the checks is not available, and it very frustrating what they let you put on the checks.
  • Checks print in whatever weird order Xero puts them in. You can adjust to make it alphabetically and I can't figure out what ordering system they use.
  • We do use a small bank for one of our accounts, and it doesn't integrate with that bank. But that could be the bank's fault.
  • They do not listen to their customers. Many users have been on the "Xero Community" board complaining about the new update all year, and they have ignored their customers and still pushed forward with the changes. Why fix something that is not broken.
  • The cost is better coming from other programs.
  • Security seems good
  • With the 2025 update, it is taking too long to process payment/invoices. This is a bad decision, and they have not been listening to thier customers. The old system was perfect, and they have make it very clunky and too many clicks.
Parts are great. But they changed the invoicing part. This is especially frustrating when entering multiple payments for a single invoice, which is the case for all of my invoices.
It is very affordable but they do not listen to their customers. The new system is inefficient. I can’t use the Tab key or manually enter dates and account codes. Switching between keyboard and mouse slows my workflow, especially for invoices with multiple payments.
The integration was fine, but they’re changing a system that was already perfect. Very disappointing for paying customers.
Xero was good and cloud based. Secure. But we are having issues now with the new invoicing, and Xero is not listening to feedback on their own community help boards.I cannot believe you pushed forward with this change. I am about to go to our ownership and re-evalutate our use of this product. I am already writing tons of peer reviews on sites like TrustRadius.

Using Xero

6 - The owners use it to prep for the tax returns and see period numbers when ever they want to, either at home or work. We use it for billing, inventory, and sales. My director of operations, uses it to verify number from Peachworks, and run P&Ls.
2 - We have AP and AR
  • Paying invoices
  • Sales integration
  • Manual journal entries
  • We run numbers easily and from any where
  • I love the cloud based operations
  • The support community can be helpful
We love Xero. It is renewed every month!*2025 update, they changed the invoicing feature. The new system is inefficient and cumbersome. I can no longer use the Tab key to navigate between fields or manually enter the date or account code. Previously, the process was entirely keyboard-based, but now it requires both keyboard and mouse interactions, significantly slowing down my workflow. This is especially frustrating when entering multiple payments for a single invoice, which applies to all of my invoices.

Xero Support

There is no one to call. You have to go their support and that can only be found on their community page after you search for help there.
The 2025 invoicing change is the problem currently. Everyone on the community page hate it. It s very cumbersome and inefficient when the old system was perfect.
There is no direct line of communication.
ProsCons
Good followup
Problems get solved
No escalation required
Support understands my problem
Quick Initial Response
Slow Resolution
Less knowledgeable
Not kept informed
Difficult to get immediate help
Support doesn't seem to care
Not require or offered
Yes - Bank feeds sometimes don't work and where down for serveral week across the world and the US.
Customers have been complaining about the new invoicing for months on XERO's very own community help page, and they still implimented the update.
No, they never have given me exceptional support and currently there is no direct line of communication to voice our opinions about the new update in invoices.

Using Xero
