Overall Satisfaction with Xero

Our firm uses Xero as our primary bookkeeping software for all of our clients. We have found that Xero is the most user-friendly bookkeeping software on the market. Our clients love how easy it is to upload invoices straight from their phones. As a bookkeeper, the reconciliation process is more streamlined than other software I have worked with.

Pros

Cons

  • Having to reconnect bank feeds every few months.
  • Quality of life is hands down the most positive impact. The number of headaches that Xero has prevented our firm and our clients.
  • Time spent on reconciliation compared to Quickbooks is down easy 30% per client.
The dashboard is a simple design where all accounts can be seen from the same screen, unlike other softwares that makes you search for bank accounts that you want to work in. Our clients love that they can easily find their way around their books without having to call our firm to help them.
I am not privy to our firm's overhead costs. However, Xero has drastically helped in the employee onboarding process. The training videos that Xero provides save management countless hours they can spend in other company areas. The new employees also feel more prepared after the Xero training videos than when we had them training with another bookkeeper.
As with any integration process, there are a few hiccups, but overall, it is the easiest conversion process that I have been around. Converting a client from QBO to Xero using jet convert is all about the setup. Jet Convert gives specific instructions on how the books need to be set up properly in QBO before conversion. There have been instances of missed transactions during conversion.
We selected Xero specifically for accessibility.

For firms like ours that work in client's books every day, Xero is hands down the best software to use. We have several clients who are older and do not like using technology, but after a week or two, they have also fallen in love with the software. Xero makes bookkeeping a breeze not only for our clients but also for our bookkeepers.
