Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Zoom Workplace near daily at our office. All of the account managers work remotely, so we meet twice weekly to touch base on projects and open issues, and we meet one-on-one with management once a week to discuss the broader scope of our current statuses within our region. It helps everyone stay connected although spread across the United States, and we also use it commonly for client meetings, which allows us to meet efficiently and share information easily.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Ease of presenting, and sharing the ability to present or share screen
Allows users to customize their own views
Live transcript is a useful tool and generally accurate

Cons

There are some concerns with the privacy agreement and terms, and we have some clients who will not use Zoom.
While on low internet connectivity, rather than just pausing the session, sometimes the call will drop completely
There should be an option for the host to automatically switch to another user rather than terminating the session for all users when they leave or get dropped

Return on Investment

Zoom allows for improved collaboration, particularly for remote employees
Positive impact for team-wide meetings with ability to record and share trainings for future use
Scheduling makes it easy to get more meetings with less effort and back-and-forth by sharing available timeslots

I have not used Zoom AI Companion.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Teams

Zoom is very similar and has great features. We generally prefer Teams because that is what we use company-wide for messaging communications. When using Teams, it shows your availability automatically and it is easy to save chats and messages from a meeting for future use. Some clients prefer Teams over Zoom due to some privacy issues.

Zoom is great for our weekly internal meetings, as well as for client meetings in which multiple people would like to screen-share, utilize the chat, and/or just chat with audio and video. If only audio is required, sometimes a limited internet connection can cause issues, and it may be less suited in these scenarios due to the potential of the call being dropped.
