Adobe Campaign

Adobe Campaign is well suited for enterprise-level marketing communications. It can manage and deploy large volumes of emails very efficiently. Workflows can allow multiple touches, staggered sends, and segmentation to occur all within one delivery if needed. Interactions and reporting can happen in real time or near real time if needed. When integrated with the rest of the Marketing Cloud, Campaign becomes even more powerful as platforms like Analytics and AEM can have functionality brought directly into Campaign for more effective content creation and reporting.

Percolate

If you are a community manager or social media manager looking for a tool that focuses solely on content creation, Percolate is a perfect tool. Unlike most other tools, Percolate provides everything you need to build visually appealing content. This includes access to Getty Images, Shutterstock and your own built in media database with no limits on image storage.The tool is less suitable as a listening/response tool (like Hootsuite), even though it does have support for this built in. Percolate also provides excellent feedback on the results of your content, so you can see how well it did based off the metrics that really matter; like, reach, shares, virality. The content creation tool even includes a built in image editor that offers brand friendly tools like logo drop-in, titles using your brand font and colors and other handy tools. These are often things that would need to be outsourced to a creative team, but can now be accomplished in under a minute. The vendor includes a multi-stage onboarding procedure which starts with your account manager, followed by a brand onboarding tool and other online tools to learn about your brand voice and brand creative guidelines (like colors and logos). The end result is a tool that "knows" who you are

  • We have had a lot of trouble with the images previewing correctly when we are in the approval workflow. Even when they are sized down correctly, they take forever to load and we tested several browsers and had the same issues.
  • When we export our log of approved and published posts, there is no way to export the destination link that was included with the post. It exports the percolate permalink but that requires the user to go back into Percolate, wait for the preview to load and THEN you can click and see the destination page. It would be much more efficient to include the destination URL in the reports functionality.

We feel that Neolane really adds value to our organization and has allowed marketing to progress - storing databases more efficiently, sharing campaigns across the world, pushing leads directly into our CRM system. We are very invested in the tool since we took a good bit of time to customize it, so I anticipate we will renew our use.

As we have grown to implement Percolate with more and more people within our company, we have also run into more features we'd like to see in the app. The Percolate team has been extremely understanding about these requests, and even visited our offices to sit and listen to exactly what we are looking for. Assuming these new features make it into production with them, we'll definitely stay with Percolate for the long term

I would say that generally the knowledge of the support team we work with is good, great even.I can't say that they seem to be very interested or involved in trying to make the product work best for us.They do what needs to be done, and they do it well - but not really going the extra mile.

Rarely has a company shown this much support during implementation. This almost got to the point where it was too much hand holding. Sometimes, social teams just want the keys to the car so they can drive it themselves instead of waiting on someone to drive along with them...

Alternatives Considered

We used to use Experian, or CheetahMail as it's referred to. Overall with the cost of deployment and training there is not really a way of going back. Given the chance, we probably would have saved ourselves the cost and would have stuck with an SAAS agreement with either Experian or an equivalent.That is not to say that Adobe's Neolane is a bad product, in fact it's a fairly good product. However it needs a lot of polishing to become the all round pack it should be.

Percolate is more robust and user-friendly than other tools we've used. The collaborative feature in particular was very attractive, and made it stand out for us against products like Sprout Social. The photo editing tool is also very useful and superior to tools that are available with other platforms

Return on Investment

  • Neolane has allowed our worldwide teams to capitalize on each other's activities - we can store one campaign then adapt it for other areas of the world fairly easily.
  • Neolane has made us more efficient by allowing employees to speak the same "language" - prior to Neolane, we used many different systems and operated separately across marketing.
  • Neolane has slightly reduced the amount of data entry work in Siebel On Demand, since the two tools are able to "talk" to each other.

  • Percolate has made it much easier to communicate between teams and has provided a return on investment in that area in particular.
  • Percolate also helps save time because you are able to schedule social media posts across channels easily.
  • It has also been an easy way to work with remote team members, which is very helpful.
