Adobe Campaign

Adobe Campaign is well suited for enterprise-level marketing communications. It can manage and deploy large volumes of emails very efficiently. Workflows can allow multiple touches, staggered sends, and segmentation to occur all within one delivery if needed. Interactions and reporting can happen in real time or near real time if needed. When integrated with the rest of the Marketing Cloud, Campaign becomes even more powerful as platforms like Analytics and AEM can have functionality brought directly into Campaign for more effective content creation and reporting.

Percolate

As mentioned previously, Percolate would be a great solution for large agencies with many clients and internal/external contributors. It's a great central 'hub' for content creation and collaboration, removing the need for hundreds of emails back and forth and preventing older versions of content being scheduled accidentally. However, smaller agencies/companies might find it more powerful than they actually need. There were attributes and functionality that my smaller sized agency simply didn't end up using.

Pros

  • The user interface is easy to navigate, even for beginners.
  • You don't need to know MySQL to set up workflows.
  • You can build personalized emails by using modules with contitions set by previous behaviours and interests.

  • The asset management library was particularly useful as we could store all content in one place, organized by client and into different category folders, until we were ready to use the assets.
  • Percolate has a seamless and easy-to-use content approval workflow which makes it very easy to send and receive approvals with our clients.

Cons

  • User interface is not very intuitive.
  • Error messages can be tough to interpret thus making troubleshooting difficult at times.
  • WYSIWYG editor could be more robust (make it more similar to Dreamweaver)

  • Percolate is enterprise-level software with a high price tag to match. It is extremely robust and flexible for large agencies or those managing a lot of accounts with many contributors, but might not be the right fit for smaller agencies.

Despite the shortcomings of user interface and basic troubleshooting difficulty, Neolane is much more robust and delivers better capabilities to our sales and marketing staffs than any other product we have used here or any product our staff members have used at other locations.

As we have grown to implement Percolate with more and more people within our company, we have also run into more features we'd like to see in the app. The Percolate team has been extremely understanding about these requests, and even visited our offices to sit and listen to exactly what we are looking for. Assuming these new features make it into production with them, we'll definitely stay with Percolate for the long term

I would say that generally the knowledge of the support team we work with is good, great even.I can't say that they seem to be very interested or involved in trying to make the product work best for us.They do what needs to be done, and they do it well - but not really going the extra mile.

Rarely has a company shown this much support during implementation. This almost got to the point where it was too much hand holding. Sometimes, social teams just want the keys to the car so they can drive it themselves instead of waiting on someone to drive along with them...

Alternatives Considered

We haven't tried any other marketing programs like this to compare to. Still in implementation.
Brandon Stuhr profile photo
Percolate and Falcon have many similarities and provide many of the same features, however Percolate felt a bit more robust than Falcon, although it does come with a higher price tag to match. Both platforms are excellent for content approval workflows, content scheduling, and community management. Percolate offers additional features such as an Asset Management Library and a section for creative briefs and collaboration with internal teams.

Return on Investment

  • Better tracking of responses and customers.
  • All in one tool so we don't have to cross train multiple employees on multiple programs
  • Has given set goals for further expansion.

  • Time-consuming to get accurate data.
