Likelihood to Recommend Ayden has been a great resource for us with international transactions. We know that they can be a trusted gateway when it comes to dealing with our client's money. Thankful to have that confidence in this system. It also has a user-friendly interface, which allows for a concise process with clients as well.
Read full review Braintree is a lower cost alternative to many of the options business owners have through their bank. However, they will need to be techy or be working with a developer to set up. The setup and backend isn't as user friendly as alternatives. Braintree is a great option if you'll need to manually type in credit card details. Banks will sometimes charge a lot more for that option. The manual option is nice if your clients aren't as tech savvy and prefer to pay over the phone than to pay on your website.
Read full review Pros PCI DSS Compliant Solution Provided options to configure a specific list of payments, like Alipay, ACH, PayPal, etc. Good support and quick solution for the technical help Well described documentation on technical integrations Drop in framework to display the payment options Read full review Braintree has excellent integration with the BigCommerce platform. The switch of our previous payment processing gateway to Braintree was very easy and only required a few clicks. Tying into Braintree's BigCommerce integration, for company's like ours that are on the BigCommerce enterprise plan, Braintree's rates for BigCommerce enterprise customers are extremely competitive and saved us money. Braintree has a pretty easy to use portal that can be accessed through the same login we use for PayPal which we are using in conjunction with Braintree with ease. I've only had to call Braintree twice and my customer service issues were handled extremely quickly and easily. Read full review Cons I would like to be able to create my own reports, like a combination between "Received payment details" and "Interactive payment accounting". Maybe you can have a better integration with PayPal. The disputes are reflected all wrong in Adyen, for example if we accept a chargeback in PayPal, in Adyen we see a "chargeback reversed" status first, then we see a "refund" status. This is very confusing for us, we have accepted that chargeback, which means we have lost the case, what are a Chargeback Reversed and a Refund statuses doing here? I think PayPal is trying to unblock the transaction that received the chargeback, but this is a very confusing way of handling the chargebacks. If I look at the "Dispute transaction details" reports, all the PayPal chargebacks are "won" because of that "Chargeback reversed" status, which is obviously wrong, we lose some cases and we win others. Amex chargebacks could be integrated. We don't see them in Adyen at all. Read full review Not a very good subscription management platform for a Saas business, but they make up for it on the API with others that are Doesn't have a lot of additional features, but that's what you'd expect out of a payment processor Very expensive per transaction, but the reality is that any processor who helps early stage companies accept online payments are expensive. Read full review Likelihood to Renew Well, Ayden is a very easy system to manage, it allow the user a nice visibility and many details about the clients. It integrated very easily to our system and allow us to increase our activity. In addition, Ayden have a very good help center that available all the time and very helpful.
Read full review There's a huge cost in migrating payment providers, and we're very happy with Braintree so far.
Read full review Usability As a product, functionality has been fine for us. In our experience, some issues during On Boarding but because we had a dedicated Account Manager assigned to us, these issues were dealt with. Now we are a customer, it feels like they have stopped caring about us or aren't interested in working with us to resolve any issues we have.
Read full review Reliability and Availability Response time are as expected, and Adyen team is always knowledgeable and are clear subject matter experts. Quite often I am assigned an engineer who is not in our time zone and sometimes 8-12 hours different from me. This causes delays in resolution due. It would be great to have a support agent who is located in the US.
Read full review Support Rating Their support is a joke. There's nothing "supportive" about them. Every time I call in with an issue no one has an answer or even a recommendation. I am put on hold and no one ever comes back. It's time to find another processor.
Read full review Implementation Rating It is simple for a developer to do.
Read full review Alternatives Considered Adyen has better handling of Disputes, provides much more detailed forecasts and withdrawal reports. Adyen has a specific page to clear doubts much more complete. Adyen have not fees for processing refunds, have not fess for chargeback received, and have not fees for retry process payments. And your processing fees are very attractive.
Read full review Braintree is better at handling international payments and supporting a variety of payment methods that can all be configured from the same dashboard. Braintree supports PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc. in addition to simply credit cards like Stripe. Braintree has a vault of existing user payment methods so the user doesn't have to re-enter their information each time.
Read full review Return on Investment I cannot see any negative impact. It is good to synchronize the payment details that come from Adyem in our CRM and this allows us, now, to manage refunds and subscriptions in there and get any action done in real time and recorded in all the platforms. Quick and reliable it is a good tool to be used for managing and checking credit card transactions details.
