Amplitude Analytics

If you do not have an analytics tool, Amplitude is a best in class option that a sophisticated organization can use for free. They offer a large amount of support if you're looking to move to a paid plan. They release new features consistently and do a great job of educating users on those new features

AT Internet

AT Internet is great if you have a wide breadth of users at different skill levels. If people using the tool are only going to be doing very basic analysis or only very detailed analysis, the scope of AT Internet may not be what you need. In our implementation of AT Internet, we have really advanced users as well as very basic users, so all of the applications available get used. AT Internet is also great when you need to perform multi-dimensional reporting. In Google Analytics it's not really possible to create a report in the interface that has more than two dimensions, which is very limiting. AT Internet allows you to add as many dimensions as you want to each analysis, as well as an unlimited number of metrics. Some metrics and dimensions don't play nicely together, however, so you really have to take the time to learn which are crossable, which involves a combination of questioning the support center and trial and error.

  • You can always get up-to-date usage data on all of our users. It is really down to the minute information, with basically no delays.
  • There are so many usage events. Events basically exist for every possible action a user can take in the software.
  • The charts and everything are very customizable and easy to navigate even if you are not familiar with analyzing data.

  • AT Internet doesn't use sampling, which reduces confidence and doubt in data.
  • Real-time data allows for immediate analysis and reaction where necessary.
  • Segmenting is flexible and powerful in delivering insights.

Cons

  • Marketing and Sales actions are on separate objects.
  • events can be unreliable as both software update and change. Sometimes they can stop triggering and it's not immediately acknowledged

  • Unique visitors are treated somewhat separately from other metrics, which can complicate analyses.
  • User experience can be improved in simple ways - e.g. larger fonts on some report screens.

The AT Internet teams always works on improving their products. I had the opportunity to see a demonstration of some future products: they will be more user friendly, easier to use, and faster at providing data. Moreover, meeting them in the different events they organize is always a pleasant and enriching experience.

Alternatives Considered

A lot of data can be tracked via manual tracking or linking to an excel sheet, but with such a huge amount of data, it is far easier to have all of it laid out in an easy to read format. The charts and graphs are easy to use and are really pretty user-friendly. The hardest part is in simply finding the event that you want to use.

AT Internet shows a deep understanding of our business objectives and provide us with ideas on how to solve them. They grant us enough time to try their tools and to be sure the tools are helpful. The data we've got in the Analyzer was manually checked and it was completely correct. Their roadmap was clean and aligned with our strategy
