Overall Satisfaction with Amplitude Analytics

We use Amplitude Analytics for analytics on both our website analytics and product analytics.
  • Closed funnels
  • User flows
  • User segregation
  • Deep dive into specifics
  • Some more clarity and examples of implementation with GDPR in mind
  • Some segregation inside user properties can be difficult to implement
  • Splicing information inside funnels could be more intuitive
  • User support for the cheaper tiers is hard to access
  • Pricing transparency really needs to be improved
  • Easily implemented closed funnels
  • Easy implemented JavaScript SDK
  • Deep diving into data is very intuitive and it's really easy to create user segments and make sense of your data
  • Marketing tests and ROI are much easier to understand
  • Critical for SaaS onboarding and retention
  • Critical for understanding our app performance and usability
Amplitude Analytics provides much more granular data than Google Analytics and gives you much more flexibility in how you can segment and splice the data. It also provides the ability to create closed funnels, which I have yet to find out how to do in Google Analytics. Amplitude has a very similar interface to Mixpanel, with a few handy additions, like the ability to name and categorize your events.

Do you think Amplitude Analytics delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Amplitude Analytics's feature set?

Yes

Did Amplitude Analytics live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Amplitude Analytics go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Amplitude Analytics again?

Yes

All in all, it's a great analytics tool and really gives you much more detailed and granular information than Google Analytics. The interface is very similar to its greatest competitor, with a few noticeable improvements in the UX and UI. The free tier is perfect for a startup looking to try it and get insight before scaling to a bigger plan. The main issue I guess is that if you're working with the EU you need to get your legal team involved to make sure you're abiding by GDPR and have consent popups and whatnot which can be a bit time-consuming and annoying.
