Articulate 360

If you are looking for a suite of tools to support every type of eLearning development that you could imagine, look no further. Articulate 360 supports PowerPoint native course creation in Studio 360, Rapid eLearning Development with robust configuration and interactivity options in Storyline 360, a responsive drag-and-drop creation tool in Rise, and a time-saving godsend of a review tool in Articulate Review. The mere fact that Articulate throws a huge content library on top of that is incredible icing on the cake.

Teachers no longer have to bring home a large bag filled with papers. Google classroom makes it easy to send and receive assignments to students for grading. Teachers can also leave feedback in real time. Students get a quicker turn around on their assignments and grades with Google classroom. This also prepares them for the future in their career and college.

Cons

  • I think that importing from PowerPoint can be better.
  • Advanced programming is not something that you can do easily. You just need to click a lot.
  • I'd love to see better support for mobile applications right from the start.

  • Google Classroom could be improved in its interface when grading student work. It is not user-friendly if you are also transferring grades into another gradebook program.
  • Another area that Classroom can be improved is in notifying students that graded work has been returned. Many of my students frequently tell me that they have no idea that I have graded and returned their work.

More and more teachers are adopting Google Classroom into their curriculum at our school. I foresee it expanding throughout the school

This is only a product I would recommend to a humanities teacher. Math and science teachers cannot use this product the same way that I can as an English teacher. It is great for word process and for reading, but unable to handle the demands of math and science. Therefore, I would highly recommend this product to English or Social Studies teachers, but NOT math or science teachers

Alternatives Considered

We used Articulate 1 & 2 previously, which is what this organization was using when I came on bored. I have not used any other authoring tool, but I would be interested in learning about what else is out there.

Edmodo is a great way to integrate technology and get students engaged, as well. However, Google Classroom makes it easy to attach assignments from Google Drive, where I create many of the materials that I use for my students. I love how easy it is to navigate through the site and the simplicity of it makes it easy for students to engage

Return on Investment

  • I cannot yet assess our ROI since our program is still new and we have not yet had a chance to see ROI.
Valorie Engholm profile photo
  • Students are much more engaged in lessons throughout the day, making them more motivated to learn.
  • The content is accessible to everyone since students have different modes they can respond in. For example, they might be viewing a PDF and answer on a sheet of paper, while other times they may be asked to create a presentation to demonstrate their understanding of a topic.
