Avanan, from Check Point since the August 2021 acquisition, connects security technologies to enterprise cloud applications in order to improve protection of sensitive corporate data and IP. According to the vendor, Avanan's one-click deployment allows customers to deploy a new security solution in seconds. Because it requires no appliance, agent or gateway proxy, Avanan can begin protecting any cloud application immediately, with no effect on users.

Chose Avanan
I tried other products, but they did not work in line with Microsoft Exchange, so emails were delivered first, causing the opportunity for a user to still click on a bad link if the email was not pulled from their inbox quickly enough. This product does not do that, it scans …
Proton seems to be a great way for starters but we felt that with Avanan, they take it to another level with their security. The less we have to worry about in our emails, the easier we can do our jobs for our clients and those we work for daily.
I have used Cisco's secure Email, one of the major dislike is User Interface that is buggy and not user friendly. It does not update it's database for spam sites. Integration process takes much time whereas Avanan takes very less time. Cisco Secure Email sometimes deletes the …

Cisco has a strong competitor with Avanan although the immense suite of Cisco products brings strong competition. Avanan's strength lies in rapidity to implement and ease of use which more established players are less able to do, due to a lack of agility. Avanan has a promising …
I believe that the price point and easiness of implementation were better for Avanan versus competitors. It also offered better ongoing customer support.
the best feature is Avanan is easy setup within minutes and has True AI-based API solutions to help and protect from all email threats and a single point of the suite for all attacks before delivery and post-delivery protection. better in terms of malware detection, email …
I have not used the same featured platform as Avanan. In my experience with this platform, I have the full belief that this product delivers beyond our imagination. It has protected us from viruses that could have destroyed our systems and interfered with our data. We have been …

What makes Avanan special is that it is affordable. In addition, it not only protects [the] email system from threats but also makes email encryption easy.
Both products are best in class and ideal for businesses. Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) is more economical, but the reliability for both products is superior.
Webroot works better than some, but I do not think it provides the same level of protection as some of the more advanced competitors in the field. This is just one layer of our Cybersecurity stack, and it should not be the only thing you rely on to protect your endpoints. We …
I think Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) is better for residential than commercial clients. I think Sentinel One Complete is better for larger companies with security issues. There are more settings on it for customization. As far as with Webroot …
As previously mentioned, Webroot is struggling to compete. Specifically, it is struggling to show value when similar products are catching more and offer more complete packages for remediation as well. We have discontinued the use of Webroot in favor of offering more advanced …
Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) was cheaper. That was the main reason. Webroot also integrated with our RMM solution, which was a plus. Malwarebytes did not integrate with our RMM solution.
Webroot SecureAnywhere is so much easier to use than the other products we've used or tested. The small footprint of Webroot makes up for any enhanced features that a competitor might have. We chose Webroot SecureAnywhere because of the competitive cost, ease of management, and …
Both of the aforementioned products were heavy on the learning curve as far as configuration and deployment. Both had a rather nonintuitive interface to centrally manage your protected devices. They both did a good job, but with unnecessary effort to achieve the same result as …
We used Vipre before and it is a very heavy user interface had lots of malware and such that it was not catching. We switched to Webroot and have had no issues at all with virus or malware attacks getting through without detection.
When first introduced to Webroot Anywhere four years ago, the consulting firm we were using recommended it with very high marks. At that time we went with their first choice and I am so glad that we did. I brought it into my new organization. I am a convert and I haven't looked …
I believe Webroot is a much better product than Symantec Endpoint Protection and Trend Micro Endpoint Security. I believe it does a much better job of preventing security threats, has a better price point and ROI while being easier to administer. Overall, I believe Webroot is …
Webroot SecureAnywhere is superior to Symantec, Kaspersky, McAfee, AVG, and others, in our experience. It's more reliable, has less negative performance impact, and is easier to administer.
Webroot has an incredibly fast install & scan. I'm impressed with the cloud management console and cloud based updates. Managing users is fairly simple as is keeping up with license usage. Also, your mobile workers will get updates quickly, unlike some other anti-virus suites I …
I honestly have not put in enough research and time for alternative products to compare against Webroot. I don't think my opinion would be worth stating since I don't have a good comparison of apples to apples against other products. What continues to keep me interested in …
I am not a McAfee lover and have not been for a long while. I have on occasion had to support computers with it. In fact a business we provide support for now uses it. There are more incidents of malware infection and more complaints of computer performance for those using …
While we consider alternatives from time to time when putting together our budget, we haven't felt the need to thoroughly test a competitor since webroot has been working well for us and we are comfortable with the pricing.
Symantec.cloud, Sophos, McAfee (which was terrible, and we had to replace McAfee with Symantec.cloud at another company). However, the difference between Symantec.cloud and Webroot is primarily with notifications and installations of definition updates. There was a lot more …
I have not had the opportunity to try out other AV or web filtering products in my production environment, however through personal use of numerous other AV products over the years I can attest that Webroot is a product that will bug you the least in terms of notifications, …
I have evaluated numerous other security products including Norton, McAfee, Kapersky, and Panda. Nothing comes close to Webroot in terms of system performance impact. It is almost like nothing is even installed - it is that low-resource intensive. Same thing with scanning …
This software is well-suited for a company that is looking to protect its data from common security breaches. It is very user-friendly and easy to implement, which is why these few things make it easily usable on a daily basis. This software also allows for much faster cloud performance and provides regular reports which provide security analytics.
Webroot can be great if you have many employees using computers. Sensitive business information can be accessed by malicious threats online if your employees are not trained to avoid these problems. In this case, I think it's important to have software to protect you. If working with a smaller team (and not doing any sort of video production or other intensive software/applications) I can't see a need for anything like Webroot. Learning how to use the internet safely and protecting your file storage are things to be done on the cheap and with smarts.
It is very lightweight. You dont even know it is running, yet it is always protecting the endpoint.
It has protected us from various threats, including ransomware - even when wannacry was hitting companies everywhere.
They have a good console with multiple provisioning options, so we were able to push it to everyone when we first started using it, and then include it as part of our deployment process going forward.
I only ever had one complaint, we had a few hiccups during the setup process. We have now been a customer for two years and have had no further issues. It is likely that the setup pain points have now been resolved as well. Overall the product does what it claims while providing a very intuitive interface.
I wish that you could delete inactive endpoints when you wanted to. I find myself having to filter out inactive endpoints when searching endpoints.
I think Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) could improve its malware detection better. Malwarebytes seems to have better detection.
Over the years, Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) has made a couple of big mistakes, such as changing something on their end that then accidentally caused one of our business applications to be flagged as malware, which prevented our users from using it.
The user friendliness and install on Macs could be more seamless.
Cost, need to make sure the cost is competitive for how many users are using email protection as we move users to MS Teams and don't rely so much on full access to email accounts (both sending and receiving internal and external).
It's easy to renew with Webroot, their support is very attentive and highly available. However if you do choose to change products, they even provide means of removing the software from your endpoints via the admin portal which is very convenient.
Usability is so easy. It was a quick configuration with entering in some credentials, accepting terms and permissions and before you know it it's already going through and taking a look at existing emails. Portal is very easy to use and there are always updates with decent logs. The new UI is great and highly intuitive.
There is nothing perfect in this world, but Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) is easy to use in comparison to others. Also Webroot tech support is only a phone call away. There have been several times I ran into an issue, but tech support as there to help resolve the issue.
Avanan support always is ready to respond to user requests and typically does it in an exceptionally quick timeframe. Most requests are not even needed to be escalated as their team will look at active threats and deal with them before they are even a problem. Monthly meetups are also great in obtaining our needs as well as showing us what is new and in the horizon.
We have not had to use Webroot support much over the years. The one or two times we did we were referred to online documentation and in a somewhat condescending manner in one case and in another case, the support person did not demonstrate much knowledge of their product and referred us to the user community for support.
I have used Cisco's secure Email, one of the major dislike is User Interface that is buggy and not user friendly. It does not update it's database for spam sites. Integration process takes much time whereas Avanan takes very less time. Cisco Secure Email sometimes deletes the important emails and that is worst where as Avanan has good AI/ML integration there are very rare false positive in deleting emails.
Webroot works better than some, but I do not think it provides the same level of protection as some of the more advanced competitors in the field. This is just one layer of our Cybersecurity stack, and it should not be the only thing you rely on to protect your endpoints. We also use advanced firewalls, EDR, MDR, and a SOC to keep our clients' devices safe.
Ease of implementation across various devices is easy and efficient regardless of scale. Whether it is 5 devices or 500 the product continually proves its the best in its class.
From an MSP perspective - I would say it has been an amazing ROI. Cost is important and sometimes not the most important. Overall for the value - we are very happy with the product. Simple to use, simple to roll out, great integration's, and decent support for enterprise partners.
Non technical people would consider this a "negative" but anybody in the IT field would understand why things have to be done this way. When rolling out to new clients, inherently, it is challenging to determine all necessary exclusions needed for every application a company has. This can be frustrating for clients with the great level of protection that Webroot provides. From the IT field, we understand that AV roll outs needs to be watched closely to determine when proper exclusions need to be put in place to ensure the clients LOB applications are working correctly.
Webroot has helped us achieve the business objectives we set out to make - a strong 'Security Package' that address both virus and malware protection. We will continue to use Webroot in the future as we add more products into our Security Package.
