  • Nielsens account managers are amazing. I could brag about my account rep forever.
  • Get onsight training, it helps the process start at lightspeed.
  • Importing external information into consumerpoint is tricky, but super fast once it is learned. I'm pretty tech saavy and I did it wrong initially. Formatting is finicky. That's part of why the onsight training is so great.

DiscoverOrg is very well suited for the job I currently am functioning in. I pull specifically targeted lists from a form that our partners complete. These forms include specific audience metrics that I'm able to pull from DiscoverOrg. In pulling these lists, I am able to target the specific audience that my clients are trying to reach, therefore pleasing both those who receive the information (b/c they are looking for this info) and my clients who are looking to distribute their assets.

  • Prospecting Lists/Lead Gen - Discover Org does this very well because of it's ability to provide current information (email/phone) on an individual at a company. It's easy to segment & drill down by categories - to find the right targets to reach out to.
  • Insights - DiscoverOrg is great at providing insights or "scopes" on prospects as well. Meaning it will show who is handling what project (Decision-Maker) and what projects they are particularly interested in at the moment/what initiatives. For example, the scopes may show that they are interested in AI initiatives or a Merger & Acquisition or Digital Transformation & will say who is in charge of the initiative.
  • Stellar filtering capabilities - you can filter lists in so many ways. You can go by function, or even look at companies with small marketing teams (let's say less than 10), or you can search for companies with an "x" amount of $ budget for IT spend. Or even companies that use a specific HR workplace management system.

  • DiscoverOrg is very expensive, small startups may not able to afford this, so they need to think about it and start providing the solution to those small companies as well.
  • When you need companies having employee size less than 30, DiscoverOrg will fail you, yes DiscoverOrg does not have a very huge amount of data for small and funded startups, this is the area where I think they must improve.
  • DiscoverOrg is good at providing technology stack of a particular internet product companies but not great I say, because when I want technology stack of small companies like 30 to 50 employee size, DiscoverOrg not able to give a great result.

It can be expensive, but the strategic insights you get from it are unreal. It is one of those products that we now wonder what we did without it. Segmentation is a must in whatever business and PRISM makes it significantly easier.We reviewed several synthetic and organic segmentation methods, including ESRI and k means clustering analysis, and PRIZM is by far the best.

The tool is simply better than most other lead/company data repositories, and they are dedicated to keeping their data clean, even if they are far from accomplishing this task at present. The tool works, and it is relatively easy to use. Overall, DiscoverOrg provides the level of lead/contact, customer, and even industry level data the sales orgs have come to expect from this sort of tool in a format that is fairly easy to use. They do also provide support for sales teams looking to use the tool effectively, which is great!

Hoovers was my go-to back in the day but have not used in a long time so can't speak to its efficacy. I remember when whoever wrote the company descriptions had a bit of sass and it always gave me a laugh. Hard to say the quality now given it has been years.ONESOURCE was pretty terrible in my opinion, outdated/inaccurate information made really dirty lists and I don't recall the system being all that useful.

  • Definitely a return on investment. We have been able to make much better use of our media buys. We have seen conversion rates skyrocket because of the targeting we were able to do.
  • Our media buys were much more cost efffective. An example is the TV listing pages of the newspaper was cheaper than the front page for certain segments.
  • It has helped support expansion into a new market for our health insurance products.
  • We are able to design products based on the populations needs and behaviors rather than what someone heard.
  • We were also able to map risky health behaviors across our service area and target the unhealthy by zip code.

  • Immediate results: Within two weeks of using DiscoverOrg, I was able to set up four meetings with companies who were listed as "actively searching" for HR software.
  • Time saved: I was able to 5x my outreach efforts in just two weeks by pulling reports with targeted, customized criteria. For example, Before outreach I was averaging about 200 emails per week. Now I'm averaging 1000.
  • More connects: With the accurate data on phone numbers, especially direct dials, I was able to connect with far more leads than I had in the past. I also didn't see as many "gatekeepers" getting in the way of me and a potential VP/C-suite lead because of these accurate direct dials.
