This is a great tool for middle to a large company that wants to have virtual learning access, manager rosters, and robust reporting on multiple data points. You want to make sure you have someone fully committed in time and energy to launching and managing [Cornerstone OnDemand]. It does lift a lot of the communication burden when automating email communication and helps to track required training far better than any excel sheet.

NetSuite helps us a lot in managing the expenses we have in our organization. For example, if we do not have the purchase requisition / purchase order in the system, we wont be able to track our expenses. So it really helps us a lot in this scenario. Can't say anything less appropriate for NetSuite aside from being slow when entering or saving the task we have in NetSuite. All in all we love to use it for monitoring expenses.

- Integration. From Accounting to ERP to CRM, I don't imagine there is much NetSuite can't handle. For a small to medium sized business, and ever for many large organizations, I believe it is entirely possible to put all of the corporate system 'eggs' into one basket - that is on the NetSuite platform.
- Architecture. The back-end database and inner workings of the NetSuite platform, I would describe as 'different.' Not necessarily better and definitely not worse. However, working in the data is different and maybe not as traditional as when working with a traditional relational database. Because of this, it does take a little bit of getting used to. However, once you are 'used to' it - the ease and simplicity of the back end is a beautiful thing and makes extracting and working with data, again once you cross the learning curve, something to be desired. Took me a few months to get the hang of things, but now, I couldn't imagine a more productive system.
- Performance. While not lighting fast compared to some on-premise tools, the performance of the NetSuite platform is better that adequate and is quite useable on a day-to-day basis.
- Consultants. We have had great success working with implementation specialists and consultants directly at Oracle. They are highly knowledgeable and easy to work with. I would highly recommend the native teams for implementation success.

- User-submitted external training is editable by users even after it has been approved and completed on their transcript, UNLESS a transcript lock is put into place--which also renders all submitted certificates un-openable once approved. Thus they can never be referenced after approval.
- The system is designed for annual compliance training to be re-versioned annually. I [believe it] is a very un-user friendly for training that we don't want to re-version because users take it on a rolling, as-needed basis.
- Some very key components are not configurable and cause our users a great deal of confusion. For example, there is no way to turn off the search bar on a user transcript or even to edit the prompt text within it. Our users are constantly searching for training here, and end up re-opening/re-launching completed courses rather than registering for a new occurrence of a course.
- In general, we find Cornerstone [onDemand] clunky and that it does not really meet our needs.

- NetSuite does have great customization capabilities, however, this can also make it difficult to track and maintain custom workflows and scripts as business needs change, especially with different subsidiaries having different process requirements. Essentially, the more you customize the system, the more you need to maintain documentation for reference.
- NetSuite has a fantastic reporting tool called a "Saved Search." For financial and other similar reports, you must use the NetSuite "Report" feature. This reporting feature is not as flexible as the Saved Search and I have found that certain reports cannot be customized as required using the "Report" feature.
- The Project Management module still has some work to go before it is flexible enough for companies to use NetSuite for their own customized processes. The module is fairly inflexible, and at a previous company we had around 10-15 enhancement requests alone relating to this module.

I am not the decision maker for this but I believe our company will be sticking with NetSuite for the long term. A CRM like this is a big investment and not something you move away from quickly and without a lot of planning. There is a lot of data involved and importing that into a new system is no easy task.

I give Netsuite [CRM] a value of 8 because it's very user friendly IF the user is properly trained and is dedicated to using the system as the administrator and company has intended. There are few items such as overall navigation that could be better but really that's splitting hairs as with any CRM, nothing's perfect.

Pages do not load quickly. Often times any action or selection of a box, drop down, check, pretty much ANY Javascript interaction causes the whole entire page to load/reload/start doing something in the background. This makes a nightmare for having to mass edit courses or upload ILT sessions. It's the one of the archaic web designs they use that really bugs me as an admin and makes working in the portal at times intolerable and insufferable

The high technical support is closer to a 9: they are very responsive and provide great examples for you to be able to replicate and resolve any scripting issue. The general support is about an 8: they address the issues relatively quickly and provide appropriate feedback although too often quoting NetSuite Support documents instead of providing relevant examples. For product enhancement issues it's a 5: very little feedback on when or whether they will happen.

Executive involvement is critical. Make sure you have a good handle on the metrics you would like to ultimately manage. Work as a team to document your business requirements. Whiteboard often. Understand NetSuite's best practice capabilities.

I have used simple accounting systems like QuickBooks, and I have used huge outdated systems like SAP. NetSuite is far superior to both of them. I wouldn't say its better than QuickBooks but maybe just for a different audience. QuickBooks is really for small companies. SAP, however, at least the implementation I used, was barely usable and effectively hid the data we needed from us because it was nearly impossible to pull from the system even with dedicated staff to help.
