Overall Satisfaction with Cornerstone OnDemand
We currently use Cornerstone OnDemand as our company wide learning management system. The vast majority of training is accessed through the portal. It has enabled the transition to automated processes and just in time delivery versus manual tracking and heavy dependence on in person training. We also use Connect as a way for employees to engage socially with one another. It's been great during the pandemic.
Pros
- The user group community is unlike any other. It is easy to connect with other clients and the CSOD team is actively engaged, always interested in what clients want and need.
- Vast content catalog from a wide variety of providers. Content delivery service makes my job easier. I don't have to deal with course files and metadata!
- Ease of use for non-admin admins! I was not a LMS administrator prior to implementation so I learned as I went which was fully supported by the robust training available to system admins.
Cons
- While I'm a huge fan of content services, there is room for improvement in the content support team providing more clear communication. It can be confusing due to how and what clients purchase and as a client, I'm not always sure if what is being said applies to me. I will say it has improved over the past several months and they are interested in feedback - both positives!
- Availability of content was an important outcome for us. We began with about 100 courses and now offer over 6000 to our employees. This has helped with engagement and being able to support our teams with resources for all facets of their lives.
- Accurate and efficient reporting for compliance purposes. No more tracking in databases and exporting difficult-to-use spreadsheets!
- Transition of ILT to elearning where we can. Freeing up time for trainers to do more important and impactful things.
I had experience with SABA prior to [Cornerstone OnDemand]. The comparison is night and day. Now that [Cornerstone OnDemand] has purchased SABA it will be interesting to see how the transition impacts service levels (my biggest complaint with SABA). We researched other platforms during our initial process and didn't find anything that came close.

Using Cornerstone OnDemand
700 - All business areas and field operations.
1 - We only have one person who administers the system and it is only a part of their job. Most of the functions can be performed with minimal technical expertise. CSOD offers a lot of training to support admins.

- Advanced reporting
Yes - It works well. It doesn't have all of the capabilities or offerings of the desktop version so I hope there will be some additional functionality added. For example Connect. Mobile seems like a perfect fit for a social platform like connect (think Facebook, LinkedIn). Would also like to see the ability for manager functions to work on mobile - as well as administrator.

- Product Reputation
Product Usability and Product Features are tied for the most important factors in our decision. We needed a system that would work for all areas of the company and for multiple purposes. Cornerstone seemed to be the only one that fit the bill. Additionally, their strong commitment to customer needs made me comfortable that they would continue to develop a product that fit our needs.
I don't think I would change the process at all. We did purchase Performance initially but with 1 administrator never had the time to implement so we paid for it for a year without touching it. In hindsight, I may have held off on adding that piece to the contract.

Knowledgeable team Problems get solved Kept well informed No escalation required Immediate help available Support understands my problem Support cares about my success Quick Initial Response | Slow Resolution Poor followup |
We had premium support initially. After a year we no longer needed it. We do engage with a 3rd party (Bluewater Learning) to help in the admin of the portal and tend to utilize them when we need support. They are very effective at getting answers from CSOD if they don't know the action to take.
