Additional DetailsDevolutions Server offers flexible pricing to accommodate businesses of different sizes and security needs. It operates on a subscription-based model, ensuring that users receive ongoing updates and support. Pricing is based on the number of users and the specific features required, with optional add-ons for enhanced security, privileged access management, and integration capabilities.ISL Online designed their pricing model to be straightforward with no hidden fees. The number of licenses you purchase determines the maximum number of concurrent users within your organization. A concurrent user is defined as anyone running one or more sessions simultaneously from any device. There are no restrictions on the number of ISL Light users within your company or the remote devices you manage. For example, if you purchase three licenses, an unlimited number of users in your company can use ISL Light and you can access an unlimited number of remote devices, but only three users can use it concurrently at any given time. When one of these three users ends their session, a fourth user can begin their session, and so on.

For any remote management you need to do on your computer, file transfers, remote troubleshooting, connecting to the company's ERP to make changes, managing program updates, files we have on another computer and want to recover, guiding someone remotely in the use of a function of a specific program. For all these cases it works great. It allows you to use it as if you were at the computer itself, with great fluidity and ease.

Cons
Devolutions
  • Easier ways to adjust inherit or at least access directly into a file/folder. If I want to give a user access to a specific folder inside a project, I have to manually remove his access to other folders in that project.

  • Need a control toggle at least on AlwaysOn. User moves the mouse and you lose all control instantly.
  • Clipboard features are a bit wonky still, and your clipboard seems to get emptied a lot. So if you're trying to copy and paste you might lose something
  • Passwords for the systems are saved per machine, so if you work from multiple devices it can be tricky if you have complex passwords

Even non-techy people can install ISL Light's self-hosting server, and the clients are super easy to use. The maintenance of the client app is also super easy. Tools like marker, rubber pointer help the support desk people to explain things on the remote side effortless. Features like System information dashboard, which shows all important hardware stats, are very handy.

LastPass has a browser extension that I use daily. Granted I am a free user of the application not a paid user so there is probably a difference. LastPass does have the autofill option which is a great option when accessing multiple sites instead of having to open the password vault itself.
