    We currently have a scenario where we print 1,000 documents per month, one for each resident. Because of DocuWare's ability to process barcodes, we dump that pdf to DocuWare and it files it into each resident's account. We then run scripting to add each of those documents to our cloud-based property management software. Saves having to process one document at a time per resident.

    OpenText Content Suite Platform

    Your organisation has to support the type of document and records management needed for this to work. In an organisation that only needs to store documents and maybe share with many different parties, this might not be the best-suited software. In a large organisation with stringent document and records management policies, this suite is well suited. It makes management of documents across business units easy to manage and control.

    • The software offers features that makes document processing and collaboration easy.

    OpenText Content Suite Platform

    • I like that OpenText Content Suite [has] many versions and therefore every department can get a version that meets their needs.
    • Documentum version is very secure and makes content management seamless.
    • ECM OpenText also makes many processes easy, more so in the finance department.
    • The software is easy to use despite being very resourceful.

    Cons

    DocuWare

    • No active directory integration, this doubles up user management.
    • No Outlook integration. Would be nice to be able to interact with Docuware from email.
    • No mobile application. We have many remote users that would benefit from this.

    OpenText Content Suite Platform

    • The user interface and configurability of that interface lack a lot of flexibility and modern tools.
    • There needs to be stronger and more powerful integration to electronic forms and workflow capabilities which are core to modern ECM.
    • Management of audit and content history needs to be modernized and made more dynamic and sustainable.

    We use a third-party company to assist in the support process, and they have been great to work with. Quick turn around on issues and almost immediate communication concerning support tickets. They are more than willing to consult with our IT partners as well, which is a must for our business.

    Alternatives Considered

    DocuWare

    We actually moved from DocuWare to Plate IQ because Plate is restaurant specific and shares many item codes, SKU #'s, etc from major vendors. However, we continue to use DocuWare for other data management because it was so useful to us while we used it for AP.

    OpenText Content Suite has been an amazing addition to our business thanks to its many features and capabilities. The fact that OpenText offers many versions makes its products competitive because there is so much we can accomplish with these products. Price wise, OpenText Content Suite is more affordable than main competitors

    OpenText Content Suite Platform

    • It has ensured that some processes can be expedited through the document management coupled with workflow. This give us the ability to provide a better services to the public.
    • It has reduced the use of paper since you can now access your document from your laptop or mobile device to use within meeting or even working from home.
    • It has saved on time by sharing document with parties thousands of kilometers away. and they can collaborate and the document is available immediately for access on this side. There is only one version available and multiple document attached to emails.
