Chose SugarSync
SugarSync has solid security. It uses AES 256-cycle to scramble your records extremely still and the TLS show to get them coming. I can open the actual document and I can work on it, save it, and now it’s the same on my notebook as it is in the sync in the Cloud and here on my …

I recommend SourceForge to anyone or business that needs both commercial and open source software. This platform has a wide variety of software with many categories that allow easy search for any project, in addition to the fact that searches can be done separately (commercial and open source software) so as not to have mixed results which go with different purpose. In addition to the fact that the community of this platform is quite active and that there are always times to discover new projects that can be useful for a company or individual person.

When doing daily jobs, if you’re sharing large files, I think Dropbox works a lot better but if you have a system where you’re working within that system and you want to be able to work with that system and have certain folders that you have access to all the time then SugarSync might be just the ticket.

Pros
Dropbox
  • I can share projects I need feedback on.
  • I can make projects available to editors so that they can do their work.
  • Dropbox is a place where I can store files that I can access from anywhere, even if I don't have my laptop with me at the time.
  • I have an old friend who is an acting professor in Tokyo. He loves the dialogue that I write in my novels. He converts chapters into scenework for his acting students. They get very excited when there's new material!

  • Commercial software and FOSS projects are available.
  • FOSS projects have advanced profiles such as software hosting for download as well as download metrics. As well as the released versions.
  • Commercial software profiles show detailed features, what it offers, price, frequently asked questions and a vast amount of user reviews.

  • Sync files in any folder - rather than forcing you to store them in a certain place (Although this can be confusing too)
  • Works in the background - although this is true for all
  • You can share with others - including those who do not use SugarSync

Cons
Dropbox
  • I’d like to be able to hover over an image/document and have it expand/enlarge without actually opening it
  • I’d love to see a carousel that lets me thumb through more quickly
  • I’m almost always in thumbnail view. I’d like to see them re-organize automatically when something is moved or deleted instead of leaving an empty space.
  • AI options for photo editing.
  • Easier pdf markups

  • The overall design that SourceForge has really leaves a lot to be desired, although the entire platform works perfectly, I think that the design should be much more attractive.
  • There is currently no feature to save your progress on a review you are writing, so if you are writing a review and the browser is closed for some reason, all progress of the written review will be lost.

  • Can only think of one thing. I have helped others to get going with SugarSync and they if they have problems it is understanding the cloud.... So maybe (if it dosen't exist already) I would like to have a animation of the proces with "flying" folders between desktops, clouds etc. Otherwise SugarSync is just great.

Dropbox is a user-friendly, easy tool which requires little to no skill and they offer a free version with a good amount of storage available. There are other file sharing tools available however at a cost. Dropbox free version I have used for years and it serves every purpose I need.

Souceforge was very straightforward and easy to manage. The leads worked for us so there is not a lot else to say about why I'd use it again. This isn't some complicated software product, it is a simple inbound marketing channel that is meant to generate leads and help us with brand awareness and it did exactly that.

Usability
Dropbox
It works extremely well, and we have never had any issues with connecting or sharing files. It's very easy to use, and any team member can share, add, and delete files to a virtual drive. This is extremely helpful, and it's an amazing tool to use, ensuring everyone can connect and work together effectively.

Performance
Dropbox
Dropbox is really useful, you can access any file from anywhere and you can upload and even edit files online, but, sometimes it can be slow. Downloading, uploading, and syncing is a bit slow, it can take several minutes. Furthermore, the search engine for large amounts of data can be slow too and it is not powerful.

They immediately responded like in an example that I gave where one of our staff members accidentally deleted the whole Special Hope Network Dropbox, we immediately contacted Dropbox they walked us through the steps of how to retrieve the information and luckily enough we were able to retrieve the entire Dropbox and we have had back and forth with Dropbox on what to do when an employee leaves how to remove them how to add another employee.

When we first signed up, they pair you with a campaign manager who trained us on how to use the product properly. The product is simple so the training was only about 30 minutes and after that we understood all the features and how to make the most of it. Most of the work came with making a custom landing page and building a follow up process for our sales team.

G2 has a larger commitment time upfront and for a more expensive rate, which wasn't the best option for our team as we were just exploring the resources that existed out there at the time. We preferred Sourceforge as well due to its subscription service, making it easier to commit from the start.

Return on Investment
Dropbox
  • When it works (usually if a client already has Dropbox, so they don't get the solicitation to sign up), it works flawlessly.
  • I've had multiple clients not see the "continue with download only" at the bottom and email me to resend the media another way because they don't have a Dropbox account.

  • It allowed us to learn more about the features and functions of some software that we currently use.
  • It allowed me to improve my decision-making for the software we use in the project area.
  • It helped us to replace several programs that were used in our company. We made several replacements, for much more optimal alternatives.
