Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I work as a development and marketing manager with Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children and we use Dropbox weekly to upload photos, stories, documents for different projects and share among other coworkers who may be unable to access documents in our shared drive. We send board and committee reports to members often via Dropbox as some of our members are unable to open our PDF and Excel files especially if they have different versions than us. Dropbox is such a great tool to organize and share documents especially if users are unable to open other types of files. You could easily drag and drop files in the folders you create and easily share.
  • Drag and drop feature is extremely user-friendly and it allows you to upload endless files.
  • Ability to organize documents, photos.
  • Easy to share documents with anyone by emailing them the link or simply entering their email when you choose to share the file. You are able to share with multiple people and you could also include a message when sharing the files.
  • With it being web-based, I wonder about security especially however the website seems really secure. It's best to use with non-confidential information. The most confidential info I place in Dropbox is our Annual Report documents.
  • The app features could use improvement. I don't find the mobile version to be as user friendly and sometimes I'm unable to view files on mobile. I have a hard time editing documents on the app version.
  • Would be neat if there was a real-time feature, chat available, and ability to upload files to the app version.
  • It saves us time by allowing a very user friendly approach for uploading, organizing, and sharing files.
  • Our board and committee members could easily access our meeting reports.
  • Great tool to share files with outside vendors. Our designer charges $60/hour and sending files via email with explanations is time consuming so by uploading files in an organized fashion allows us to get the job done faster at a lower cost.
  • pCloud
You can use Dropbox to simply drag and drop files and everything synchronizes and it allows for easy sharing. pCloud is not a well-known company, still pretty new. I'm sure it's pretty secure however I've only used it a few times. There is also Google Drive which has more storage available and also offers a feature where you could speak into and it writes our the text. Dropbox does have some improvements to make however it's free for about 2gb storage and I am able to get by with the free version as opposed to other alternatives.
Dropbox is one of the best file sharing tools allowing you to organize and share multiple documents with coworkers, friends, family. You are able to upload and share large files including videos. It's great for sharing files with board and committee members who may be unable to access PDF or Excel versions you send over.

I would resist from uploading and sharing any sensitive information especially donor, client records. This is a great sharing tool for non-confidential items.

Using Dropbox

4 - We send Board and Committee members report documents via Dropbox. It is an easy and fast solution to upload and share files to members, coworkers and clients. It makes communication with clients very easy and moves the project along quicker which in return saves money on their hourly rates.
4 - Doesn't require any skills. It's super easy to drag and drop files, save and share with anyone. You don't need any special skills or requirements. It's easy to upload and share even video files as well. The web based version is fairly easy to use however the mobile version sometimes is a bit difficult to interpret.
  • Board and Committee members reports
  • Organizing documents for specific projects to clients or multiple people
  • Great way to organize projects to the same person to differentiate content per project.
  • Upload videos from our events and share among our networks.
  • User friendly solution for sharing mutiple files
  • It would be great if they had a chat feature or more innovative features like real-time.
Dropbox is a user-friendly, easy tool which requires little to no skill and they offer a free version with a good amount of storage available. There are other file sharing tools available however at a cost. Dropbox free version I have used for years and it serves every purpose I need.
