Out modular unified platform is built to easily adapt to your organization and unique contracting processes. Work with us to establish a plan that meets the specific needs of your team. Schedule a time with our experts here: https://getoutlaw.com/request-demo/
Emptoris is very similar in functionality but more simple than the other tools I have used in the past. Some of its modules have been upgraded very well recently which helps it compete better with its rivals. We recently conducted an exercise to see if we need to move to some …
Ability to handle high volume of contracts; configurability and customization of fields; scalability for large number of users; ability to handle lengthy contracts with many fields & variables; organization and role-based security; ability to maintain on our own servers instead …
I would say there are positives and negatives to all. Emptoris seemed to be more advanced in progression of their tool. Others seem to have created a tool to meet a customers need and was not part of their core business model or competency.
Emptoris had better functionality but was definitely less user friendly. Still, the small center-led team was quite experienced so Emptoris was a better choice.
I think Emptoris stands up better against peers in terms of point A to Z solution: Better storage of all components related to the contract (contract management) in terms of all legal requirements, all compliance requirements, proper communication trail, various attachments, …
We eventually selected Apttus because of its close ties to Salesforce and quick implementation process. We were able to get the application installed and live in just a few weeks. For our purposes, it was a much better fit for us to generate and store contracts for our company …
There are quite few products for contracts management, there are pro and cons of every product software. However, Emptoris has won the race due to the features and the easy maintenance of contracts compared to Ariba,Oracle contract management product software.
I am a fan of Ariba to be used for the entire lifecycle of Sourcing. From RFX's to cutting PO's. I feel Emptoris misses the boat on the idea of a "One Stop Shop" for all of your Sourcing/Purchasing needs
They are very similar. I think DocuSign has more use so sometimes I have to describe Legalesign as being "like DocuSign" but overall using Legalesign has been a very similar experience.
Legalesign is very similar in functionality to DocuSign. The one advantage that DocuSign has over Legalesign is brand recognition, which is important because so many spam/phishing scams today use fake document signing to lure in victims.
Legalesign is our preferred method of signing/sending documents. It's easy to use and saves a lot of headaches when it comes to getting signatures on contracts/offer letters/documents. Additionally, we've found it to be cheaper than other similar platforms, even for multiple …
Outlaw allows us to store templates, easy to use and edit, collaborate internally and externally, and send right from Outlaw in a simple, easy, platform. I think there is still improvements needed - search function, address book, are the two main ones that would make this a …
The main reason we chose Outlaw was the price and customer service. The customer service at Outlaw has been outstanding in helping us learn the process and set up contracts. They are available all the time and respond very quickly. Julie Appel is the best at Outlaw!
Much more reasonable pricing for what we were looking for. I loved the willingness to work with us on pieces of software that were not even developed with Outlaw yet.
Outlaw is much easier to load and format a contract template. Easier to send. Better UI. Just easier to use all around in my opinion. All of our clients had never used it before but asked what it was called and how they can explore it for their business which is a big win!
Any company who needs more monitoring and has frequent contract language changes due to negotiations with parties can utilize the Emptoris Contracts software to a greater extent. Key Business Questions that are answered on Emptoris:
More clause language.
Multiple language support
Maintenance of the contracts during the life cycle.
Bringing Legacy contracts into new system and its maintenance.
Monitoring the contract and important remainders based on contract.
Complex contract approval process due to the business complexity.
User roles and responsibilities - Privileges.
Version comparison difficulties.
Many more.. There are good amount of features on Emptoris that can be used, which improves the business process cycle times.
Legalesign is well-suited for sending out documents to be signed, especially if multiple signatures are needed. Our sales team has had a lot of success utilizing Legalesign when sending contracts to potential clients. Additionally, it's a great option for organizations wanting to send out official offer letters to be signed. Legalesign is not well suited if you're looking for a long-term storage system for documents. I would recommend downloading your documents once they're signed and storing them within a secure system of your own.
Well suited to template led document creation - where multiple non legal users can create contracts that are locked down and secure from error. Because it is a niche platform it can be tough to persuade users outside our business to use collaboration features. Often we have to export and revert to using MS word for red-lining/track changes.
Archives - after a certain amount of time, documents are archived. It's difficult to determine when this happens. If you need to access an archived item, Legalesign says it will take 'several hours' to retrieve the document. I've waited up to 12 hours for a document to be pulled. This is inconveniently and a bit odd.
The dashboard can be confusing - there is a timeline with your 'recent' documents, but I've never been able to determine how it shows documents. They're always out of order and some new, some old. It can be confusing.
Overall, I've had issues with the internal timeline of this software. There are dropdown menus for choosing the dates of the documents you want to see (7 days, 30 days, last month, etc.), but I'm often missing documents and have to perform several searches for them. Other members of the team have had this issue, as well.
Like the archive issue mentioned previously, there have been times when the platform has moved very slowly. Documents will often take time to load, even if they're just a 2-page Word document. This does not appear to be a connectivity issue.
The dashboard itself can just be a bit confusing. There is a lot of information available, but the algorithm that determines what is displayed is strange, and it's hard to determine what you're seeing/why you're seeing it. There are settings you can play with, which has been helpful.
Although it hasn't happened often, I have had candidates/new employees not recognize an email coming via Legalesign. Document emails look a bit like spam, so I've had candidates ignore them. As far as I know, these are not customizable. I ensure recipients know the email is coming.
There are a lot of new, exciting products coming out in every field and I believe that there is always something better right over the horizon. If it was my choice, I would review my usage of Emptoris and other software periodically to make sure I'm using the most efficient software possible.
Great user interface and great training and support by the Outlaw team. Whenever we had a question, they were always available to help. Loading templates made the contract process so much quicker and required less approval's from our leadership team, which makes it easier for everyone to do their jobs
The above rating for the overall support from Emptoris is for their product / product support, roll out training and refresher training / ongoing training, which is not only good but superior. There is no major or reconizable bad review that can be given to Emptoris at this point in time, from where is stands.
The support has been A+. Outlaw is always there when I'm having issues or need assistance. They will get back to me the same day or next. The support team is very knowledgeable and explains it very simplified for us. Julie Appel with Outlaw has been the perfect support for my company in rolling out Outlaw and answering any questions we have.
We eventually selected Apttus because of its close ties to Salesforce and quick implementation process. We were able to get the application installed and live in just a few weeks. For our purposes, it was a much better fit for us to generate and store contracts for our company without having to force a link to procurement.

We won the 2005 Baseline Magazine Award for best ROI related to a technology implementation with an ROI 5544% (see 2005 Baseline ROI Awards, GlaxoSmithkline).
We always felt we could do "two times the work, with half the people and deliver double the savings".
Legalesign saved us a lot of money in postage costs. Prior to e-signing documents, we would have to mail out a package and wait for them to sign the documents and send them back.
Our document "return rate" went way up after moving to e-signatures. Its a lot easier for someone to e-sign a document on their PC/phone/tablet that it is to manually sign it and mail it back.
