FloristWare vs. Mautic (open source)

FloristWare is well suited for every aspect of the florist business and is adaptable to any size florist company.

Mautic is not Salesforce or Dynamics of course; it is hard to install, still buggy and you have to know what you're doing if you want to use it. But that is your admission fee to an always free system that does essentially all the same things as the pricey alternatives, does it effectively and gives you total control. Mautic was acquired by Acquia, the company behind Drupal, and has been making substantial upgrades since that seem to be accelerating. The system has an active user community, active development and will only get better, making it an excellent choice to grow with and build your own systems around and never be dependent on third parties

• The reporting tool is powerful - provided the product categories and sales accounts have been well thought through. The fixed reports have been intuitively created; but the export feature makes them even more powerful, so as to be tailor made for the individual business.
• The marketing tools campaign builders, fundraisers, advertising analyzers, etc. are effective and have brought us business we would otherwise not have seen, and saved us money we would otherwise have thrown at the wrong advertisers. Customer data can be pulled and sorted in a multitude of ways, depending on the purpose. We use the marketing tools routinely.
• The financial tools make my life easier. Need to file and pay sales tax? A Sales Report Summary for any date range instantly gives gross sales, taxable sales, sales tax due. Need a current inventory report? A push-button report is generated, by product category. Need to know how this month's sales compare to the same month last year? Not a problem.

• I would like to see the ability to save work and continue later (as in pause order entering).
• I would like to see in the future a more advanced routing module.

• Setting up the email templates has required hiring a professional. The templates that are provided are not fully responsive.
• More responsive form templates are needed.

I give FloristWare a rating of 10 for usability because I have never had an ounce if difficulty with any of its functions or features.

Support is outstanding, Mark wouldn't allow anything less!

I have never felt the need to seek out an alternative to Floristware.

Infusionsoft, at the time I tested it, had a crazy editor--very unintuitive and not very clean. Mautic (open source) makes it much easier to build up campaigns. Besides that, it didn't provide what we needed to justify the lack of possibility to self-host it and the requirement to pay for it.

• Has kept us on top of account billing, so positive

• We made our ROI back within a year.
• Fulfills our needs and our client's needs, our clients love it.
• I would just add more templates to the email construction selection, other than that, it is just perfect.
