Likelihood to Recommend

Fuze

Fuze is very good around collaboration, meetings are simple to set up once initial familiarity is done. The telephony is consistently of a high quality and very reliable which keeps the users happy. The chat functionality is improving and becoming more useful and being picked up as a tool by a growing number of users. Fuze lacks the flexibility of being able to compete with WebEx regarding remote control of a computer for someone who does not have Fuze installed. This is required by customer support personnel dealing with customers who need to have an issue resolved but cannot install software without change control.

Skype for Business

It is a tool that adapts very well to meetings of a high professional level, being very effective for the transmission of information and the reduction of logistics expenses and the growth of the personnel. Skype adapts well as a tool of communication at a distance with the work teams, since it allows the reduction of the operative expenses and the execution times of the strategic instructions of the organization, guaranteeing the adequate use of the available time for the production of the company. It does not adapt very well for the organization of meetings at distances that merit communication with personnel located in communities of difficult access, which do not have an excellent connection to the internet, therefore the tool is more advisable for office activities but not field.

Pros

Fuze

  • Availability to use your work number anytime anywhere. Our recruiters make themselves available as much as they can. Being able to answer calls from their worklines while not in the office and make calls from their work numbers is a big deal.
  • Setting up new phones and numbers is very easy with their hub. I don't always have to go directly to their support team to setup new users. As long as I have the mac address of the phone and we have free numbers I can set a new user up in minutes.
  • Their support team is great as well. If I do need to get help with an issue their support team is quick to respond and very knowledgeable about their systems. Their team is also able to fix most support cases within the same day.

Skype for Business

  • It offers work tools that manage to maintain a stable connection and quality in each individual and group call.
  • Allows sharing the computer screen for excellent communication.
  • It is a tool that adapts to the current business dynamics that requires it to be efficient in communication through rapid and assertive communication with clients or interested parties.
  • Video calls for the organization of work meetings have become a common experience in smart organizations because they understand that in order to adapt to a constantly changing world they must use more effective work tools.
  • You can make individual and group video calls, send images, emoticons, text messages, voice messages, share files, share the screen in two or group with other communication tools.

Cons

Fuze

  • Their client software can face a few bugs here and then and it may take awhile for them to be fixed. One such example is the audio settings, it does not save the proper audio setup all the time when I'm docking and undocking my laptop.
  • Fuze technical support is not very good. They take a very long time to get back to you. When filing an urgent case that needs to be resolved quickly, I am not able to rely on them to give me the punctual and effective support that I need.
  • Registering conference phones can be a pain, as I have to follow a fairly long set of instructions to register them to Fuze.

Skype for Business

  • It requires an excellent connection to the Internet because not all the territory of my country has an adequate Internet connection for the efficient operation of Skype. Being a limitation for the communication by video call with the personnel that is in communities of difficult access.
  • They must improve the coincidence of the audio of the call with the video view, considering that they do not coincide in time, a situation that affects the work.
  • They should improve the process to make a call because it is confusing.

Likelihood to Renew

1,000% will renew. For the price, for the features, for the support, for the implementation, for the ability to deploy to a new site, or a new company acquisitioned that has an older PBX, we can get them to Fuze with so little effort, dump the phones on their desk, and give them all the features and "WOW" that they would expect from a modern enterprise.

I honestly feel that with most people using iPhone nowadays, it's easy to just call or use FaceTime if you need to be in touch with a client. Unless you need to have a conference call, there are plenty of ways to get in touch with a client otherwise besides using a somewhat inefficient program.

I find it very easy to use and easy to operate. It is definitely easy to get used to and from a user perspective is a solid product. I also find it to be very handy and useful for a small-mid-sized org like ours. It is easy to communicate effectively and get information quickly.

Reliability and Availability

Fuze

Fuze 9.1
Based on 1 answer
Because the people who designed Fuze were Data-center people, they thought of availability first, there really isn't any excuse for telephony downtime, and they certainly do well with this. There has never been a total outage, just a few features sometimes have been offline while Fuze moves the service to other servers, NEVER calling, sometimes chat or physical phones (which can be fixed by rebooting them). The uptime on the Fuze systems is basically: Always up, always available.

Performance

Fuze

Fuze 9.1
Based on 1 answer
Since Fuze runs across multiple devices and platforms they really strived to make a lightweight interface that is optimized for phone calls, chat, and collaboration. The web client loads fast, the chat is always up-to-date, phone calls arrive on-time. The desktop client is the most feature rich and basically it just adds desktop sharing functionality as well as VoIP for calling, and the mobile client doesn't consume a lot of battery, and it stays running to get phone calls, chats, and can do meetings over Wifi, Cellular Data, or Cellular voice.

Support

Fuze

Fuze 6.6
Based on 65 answers
I have used both online and telephone support and have been completely satisfied. The overwhelming majority of our support requests have been user provisioning and de-provisioning, and with the introduction of the Fuze Hub recently I'm in a self-service mode. The only real tech support was right after go-live getting our firewall rules perfect. We have had no support calls for dropped calls or poor quality in two years. Support has been great, just haven't needed much of it.

In-Person Training

Fuze

Fuze 9.1
Based on 1 answer
At many of our sites with more than 50 users, Fuze sent someone onsite to train. This worked surprisingly well, as the trainer allowed the users to set the pace and answered TONS of questions. Fuze has a very streamlined training process, their staff is very professional, very knowledgeable and very engaging.

Online Training

Fuze

Fuze 9.1
Based on 1 answer
Fuze has vast amounts of training videos and guides on how to use its products and services. There are literally endless-hours of training and I often point end-users to a particular video which addresses the specific needs of the user, for example: how to check voicemail. Or, how to share your desktop, etc.

Implementation

Fuze

Fuze 7.6
Based on 64 answers
I am writing as a common user; I am not an IT person who has implemented this on all computers in our organization) Initially, when we were given new phones, I liked that the directory popped up with one-touch. However after a month, that feature went away. We found that it went away/disappeared. Maybe it was a trial use and we were not supposed to have full directory access, but the feature was missed. We all had to go through a bit of painful learning with our new phones and features understanding how to retrieve voicemails, why sometimes Fuze worked from our personal phones and sometimes it didn't. If we use personal phones, we had to take the extra step to verify and route the Fuze voice to the app. Now that it is installed, I do enjoy using it.

Skype for Business 8.2
Based on 1 answer
Skpe for business is utilized company wide in regards to my company. Everyone not only uses it, but uses it often. It is an effective way of communicating. It also integrates very nicely with outlook and all conversation history is pushed to a folder within the outlook system. We also have it so that if someone misses a message, they are sent an email reminder saying that there is a message that went unread.

Alternatives Considered

Fuze

Skype for Business, 8x8, on-prem PBX.Fuze has better call and video quality then other UCAS services we have evaluated and is more resilient. No equipment or cap-ex needed vs an on-prem PBX solution, and user provisioning is much easier.

Skype for Business

Select Skype for business because it is a program that offers better video call tools because it contains work options that allow a clearer image of the video, more coincidence between audio and video. Skype for business offers a more innovative and creative interface tailored to the current business demands. It has more striking, technical and professional tools, which are essential for the organization of high-level management meetings.

Scalability

Fuze

Fuze 9.1
Based on 1 answer
Fuze does have scalability limits but most of that is how many end-points they can put on a virtual PBX, or VCX as they call them, I THINK its limit is somewhere between 2,000 and 5,000, but we've not had issues with that because we have put users into various VCXs some by location, some by department or function. Either way, we have 7,000 currently deployed, and are going to end up with over 15,000 when we are done, Fuze is VERY scalable.
