Likelihood to Recommend [Glassdoor.com] is well suited for larger, older organizations who have had time to build up a reputation in the market and have lots of employees come and go. This means that job seekers will have a lot more data to peruse when it comes to company reviews, interviews, salaries, etc. simply because there is a larger pool of people to provide such information. If you are a small or new organization, [Glassdoor.com] might not be helpful for candidates trying to learn more about your company.

Working with Monster does an excellent job of providing alerts when applicants submit for open positions. Our applications that we get from Monster applicants are easy for us to segment out for faster sorting and selections. Read full review Cons Glassdoor is an expensive product and price needs to be lower for employers. They have to find a way to stop companies from rigging their ratings by asking their employees to post positive reviews. Also, somehow they need to figure out if the negative review is an attempt to show their frustration by an employee rather than the true picture of the organization. Read full review Monster.com can improve on its data redundancy aspect. It frustrates the users to look at or access the same sets of results or the same applications again and again. It can also look into the spam feature. There are ways one can spam it by taking out information. Read full review Support Rating Support is generally excellent, but there can be a fair amount of bureaucracy at times for requests. The support people are very knowledgeable of the platform, but sales seem to regurgitate the same info when trying to negotiate or upsell a client. Technical issues are rare and usually solved quickly.
Read full review Monster is a job portal with rich features and a great depth of database in candidates. They also have a good search option that is able to display the right candidates when you search for them. The only gripe that I have about Monster is that they need to improve their database of candidates when it comes to blue-collar jobs or non-software jobs.
Read full review Alternatives Considered LinkedIn is the most direct competitor and to be honest Glassdoor's offering does not match up. LinkedIn's product is superior as it is more developed, more precise, you can get more insights as an applicant and as a business. I would use both services but Glassdoor would not be my first choice.
Read full review I think Monster.com fills a different niche.
SeekOut /LinkedIn are more about finding candidates from the overall pool of millions of profiles and resumes. Monster.com shows you immediately who is looking, who is applying, etc. Monster.com also has the salary tools, which I think is very unique. The other sites do not have that and aren't as transparent about the market. Which I think is very valuable during competitive hiring times like these.
