Chose Todoist
I first used Evernote for a range of tasks and it was great for a while but once new apps and tools emerged, the role of a to-do app in my life became more specific. So I started trialing a few such as Remember the Milk and Google Keep. They do the same job but ultimately it …
Chose Todoist
Google Keep is what I used to use. It works in a pinch but is not really made as a todo app and therefore is missing lots of needed features. But I do like the way that it integrates with the rest of the Google/Android platform. Google Tasks is terrible and lacks any kind of …
Chose Todoist
Todoist is more focused on its goal than Google Keeps and is far more intuitive to use. For example, with just a click we see immediately that Todoist provides a way to distill tasks so that we only see what's immediately pertinent to us, via the Filters (which can be …
Chose Todoist
I chose Todoist because of its excellent cross platform support. Whether Mac, Windows, Chromebook, iPhone, Android, or Web, Todoist does perhaps the best job of any task manager I've seen of making sure the interface is exactly the same no matter where you are. It makes it …
Chose Todoist
I believe that, by the way, I use Todoist, it is more complementary than the ultimate option in the market. I use it every day for the everyday things, it is merely practical and tremendously easy to use, however, I don't think it is the best task manager, but I use it …

It is the perfect companion for storing all those little bits of information you need to do your job well, the best thing is getting it all out of your head and in to Google Keep. You can trust it to hold that information for you, and you know you can go back and use its excellent search functionality to find that information at a later date. It can also work really well for your personal life as well. I have two accounts, my work account and my personal account - I use them both in different contexts but I have always found Google Keep is great for both.

There have been lots of times when we need to add a new habit into our daily work routines, and having the option to do so in the To-Doist app on the very first screen is incredibly helpful. It's a good reminder, and I believe that professionals who truly appreciate and properly value the implementation of good habits would be very grateful for this feature. It's also a time saver because you don't have to manually type it in every day/week / etc.

Pros
Google
  • It's incredibly quick to load, it doesn't take long to pull up any note you have no matter how much information is in the note.
  • The ability to collaborate on a Google Keep note is also great! It allows for two or more of you to work on a project in one space.
  • I also love that I can color coordinate. I can make all my meeting notes one color, my personal notes another color and so on.
  • Enjoying the pinning feature that allows me to keep my important notes right at the top so I don't have to go searching for them when needed.

Cons
Google
  • The iOS app sometimes gets into a state and doesn't update your notes (won't show new notes from other devices / computer), needs to be re-installed to resolve
  • Your notes take up space in your Google account's quota, though this is not very apparent at first - you have to keep an eye on what you are storing - huge pictures better not go in there

  • The Todoist application now works almost identically across all platforms. There is a minor improvement that I would like to see on iOS and that is the ability to show task count by custom filter.
  • In Board view, I want to be able to easily add sub-tasks to a parent task.
  • Besides those two minor improvements, I am extremely happy with the application.

It does everything I need it to do. It is easy to organize and categorize what I need and what I want to see.

Usability
Google
Google Keep is very easy to use. Currently, the company I work for has employees from different age brackets, and this is one of the easiest apps on G-Suite to explain. Not a lot of people use it, but it is due to personal choice since a lot of people still prefer pen and paper to keep their notes.

Excellent features and concept, simple implementation, but the software is not very clear in training new users and communicating features. The occasional unexplained crash or freeze is not handled gracefully by the desktop software, requiring either the user or tech support to manually restart.

Support Rating
Google
I gave this rating based on the ease of use, the simple functionality and how well it does at keeping my attention and helping me continue to use it and stay on track. The functionality mentioned before alongside the reminder functions and how it utilizes Google's powerful machine learning tech to better its software is remarkable.

I've used Todoist for about three years now and I haven't needed to contact support, which I'm considering a 10 out of 10. Honestly, their platform is so easy to use that I never had to look up a knowledge base or forum to be able to do what I wanted in Todoist. So I'm not sure what their support system looks like or how it works, but I do know that if I haven't needed support, that's also a good sign!

Alternatives Considered
Google
The main differential of Google Keep is its simplicity and efficiency for quick notes. I can draw on the card, put a photo, record audio if I can't write at the moment, in short, for everyday tasks, simple things, it is superior.

[Todoist: To-Do List & Task Manager] is significantly simpler and cheaper than most of the alternatives and doesn't complicate the management of tasks with a plethora of unnecessary features. While all the alternatives have strong feature sets, what Todoist does better than any of them is manage tasks, in theory the central point of them all.

Return on Investment
Google
  • Google Keep is free, and for what I need it for I don't need to purchase another tool.
  • It's handy when it comes to taking quick notes, but so is a piece of paper. This tool won't magically improve your life.

  • Location-based reminders ensured that my staff didn't miss things when they went onsite with a customer. This has led to renewals on a regular basis.
  • Sharing of task visibility for managers with their direct reports has enhanced 1-on-1 meetings and ensured that field coaches kept focused
  • The cost of Todoist vs. the value it creates is a huge selling point for the software. For the price per user, I've found nothing that even comes close!
