SAP
Joule explained ATC findings, including root cause, business impact, recommended APIs, and examples of fixes for S/4HANA readiness checks. Joule today is a point-in-time assistant — great for one question, one generation, one explanation at a time. It is not yet capable of owning a full development flow.

I have tried other competitors. But I always end up going back to Twilio because I feel like it is dependable, easy to use, and, has competitive pricing. The only time I wouldn't recommend Twilio to someone as if they are completely inexperienced about using webhooks or APIs. Because you can't really just sign up and start using Twilio without connecting it to another platform first.

Pros
SAP
  • Users can prompt Joule to create business partners in MDG.
  • The change process for Business partner (Customers/Suppliers) updation is made easy, particularly for updating data such as address and communication details.
  • The workflow process has been simplified by Joule agents, such as identifying the high-priority task and sharing it with the end user.
  • Improved data quality to almost 30%~50% in the CR creation process, which is a significant milestone for us.

  • Easy to see my team in one place, when they log in and out and what call status they are in.
  • Twilio is a simple, user friendly way to log in and out of work activities.
  • Excellent services and support.
  • The omnichannel feature which allows agents to get request from all channels.

Cons
SAP
  • In SuccessFactors Joule should have more tools out of the box.
  • There should be more examples on what is possible to do with Joule or Joule Studio in Successfactors, all available examples seem to focus only on Payroll or Inventory management leaving the HR behind.
  • Document Grounding should be easier to implement, and should be possible to have some kind of permissions per couuntry / user group for specific documents. The implementation with Sharepoint makes it harder to complete because normally we need some extra team to join and help and until now, I always had issues implementing it. I believe that it would make it much easier if the documents could be stored and managed inside SuccessFactors.

  • Control panel. Often, navigating through lists is challenging. I want endless scrolling, not pagination.
  • Conversational intelligence service require a Language. I would like it to detect it.
  • We would like to have some credit on clients that chose to use their own Twilio account.

As we explore, we can learn more. As i believe, we can only learn to live and live to learn stuffs. So as well AI does the same and improve itself. By trying and prompting joule more, we can use it in better ways. I would definitely wait and use the new versions shared in SAP Teched on Joule with more LLM involved

Unless we can get this handled quickly -- less than 1 week -- we will likely switch to another provider who, in my opinion, we'll have to spend close to $3,000 in development time to build a new integration for texting. Our clients need texting and I feel Twilio has failed us miserably.

Usability
SAP
I would rate Joule’s overall usability a 10 out of 10 because it makes interacting with SAP incredibly simple, intuitive, and fast. The conversational interface removes the complexity normally associated with navigating SAP modules, running transactions, or building reports. Even non-technical users can get meaningful insights within seconds just by asking natural language questions.

Twilio has well documented APIs and examples. There are several tutorials, videos and Q&As regarding their services. So, usability is very good. I must say that advanced knowledge of telephony, API/Programming and error-handling is essential to make good use of Twilio. It's not just plug-and-play unless you are integrated with a system that has all of the programming built for it.

Reliability and Availability
SAP
as its cloud based, as of now, we see it available all the time and havent faced any issues while accessing. Not sure if this has high availability and Disaster recovery features got set up already with the default version that we are using at our organization. no issues so far.

SAP Joule's pages load quickly and it does display the information on what we are looking for w.r.to the knowledge base or the SAP articles.

Twilio executes what it is designed to do: send SMS messages at scale while providing very good deliverability. I believe that Twilio is very good at what we use for adding SMS messages to our comms strategy. We can see those messages get opened and replied to, which is exactly what we are looking to achieve.

Support Rating
SAP
Usually support for Joule takes longer than normal, and the correct answer always takes a long time to get, or we just don't get it at all, and we fix ourselves.

I have not had to communicate with Twilio support in the last 3 years but my past experience with them has been very positive. They replied to my previous requests promptly and kept me well informed to resolve my inquiries. With their documentation that's available, I hardly imagine why anyone would need to contact support since it's all there in a concise and easy to understand format. It would probably take you longer to type out a support ticket than to just open their doc websites.

Joule implementation was easy but it has too many steps, it would be nice if part of the steps could be done automatically.

Alternatives Considered
SAP
Joule is better because it doesn't take only data available on the web, but combines that with data provided directly by the game publisher through API to us which includes every single match played = all data points from all of those matches. That means that for us Joule gives deeper insights than any online AI chat agent could do

We evaluated many fundraising-based text-to-give programs and found the subscriptions prohibitively expensive for our small scale and uncertain first few years of development. While we may be willing to invest that kind of money after discovering how things work, we're happy with Twilio now and have no desire to start over.

  • We found that associates who had the opportunity to respond to a survey about their assigned job were 37% more likely to return to a job site
  • We were able to reduce the number of resources required to manually respond to associates using Twilio Studio, so those resources could have more time to complete other tasks
  • We were able to scale the number of associates who received survey messages at least by a factor of 8 without increasing our resource demand
