Considered Multiple Products
Juniper Secure Analytics
Chose Juniper Secure Analytics
Not even a close comparison between these two. Juniper is an amazing product with unlimited capabilities while FortiSIEM wasn't quite ready to be deployed. We like how much time, effort, and energy went into the development of Juniper's product.
LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
I think Logrhythm still has a lot of work to do to catch up with competitors in many areas. They need to improve their design cycle, with a cycle that's completely focused on bug fixing and reliability, without introducing any new features to improve the system's overall …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
LogRhythm's NextGen SIEM Platform customizable dashboards has fewer options compared to Splunk
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
LogRhythm has consistently been in the top quadrants and reviews. The support provided by the vendor is top class. Once it is up and running, there is no much to be done in terms of setup. However, free trainings on the internet like youtube are not available as they should be.
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
SIEMs are complex behemoths, regardless of the one you decide to go with. Even those that are supposedly turn-key solutions aren't really and can pose some tricky issues for veteran IT and InfoSec staff. LogRhythm has the best educational services and technical support, hands …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
LogRhythm is heads and tails above AlienVault and more well known and industry-standard compared to InsightIDR.
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
The only thing we chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform for is to allow the Security Analysts to work on the dashboards which don't know much about programming and query languages but has good intuition about cyber-security. It is easy to get hands-on compared to Splunk, which …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
We researched Splunk as well but it seemed to require more programming experience than LogRhythm which we currently do not have and could not support another FTE for. SolarWinds SIEM product was another product we researched, although it's basic functionality was good, it was …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
LogRhythm's NextGen SIEM Platform is lightning fast when compared to other SIEM platforms. With our previous SIEM platform, it would take several hours to query for certain events over a 90 day period. For more advanced queries we'd sometimes have to let it run overnight. …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
Unlike other vendors, all modules of LogRhythm are integrated with the main solution. One could go for the Enterprise Architecture which offers separate hardware for separate modules. But in our case that wasn't needed. We needed something that was user-friendly and didn't take …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
We used Kiwi years ago before it was owned by Solarwinds and it worked great for our then small server stack, but we grew much bigger fast and needed something more robust and LogRhythm fit the bill.
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
LogRhythm is easily differentiated from the other log analysis products I've used in terms of sheer functionality. The competitors can't keep up in performance, speed, or correlation. The only thing that the other products can do to hold a candle to LogRhythm is to integrate it …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
LR is inferior when compared to a cloud-native SIEM - the functionality is simply not there.
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
AlienVault USM Appliance and USM Anywhere might lack some functionality where LogRhythm does well. For instance, SmartResponse functionality is more mature than the Orchestration rules at AlienVault USM Anywhere. You can easily script SmartResponse to act accordingly to each …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
We selected LogRhythm due to low overall time investment to meet our basic needs, very competitive pricing, a strong user community and a reputation for excellent support. We have been pleasantly surprised by the very personal nature of the partnership we enjoy with LogRhythm - …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
We did an RFP and evaluated several SIEM vendors. LogRhythm ended up being a very clear choice when compared with the other vendors.
In this RFP we invited all vendors that were in the leaders category of the Gartner magic quadrant for SIEM.
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
We had business requirements for the following features:
  • Sustained flow acquisition and data collection of dissimilar log types from multiple sources.
  • Customization for Reporting and Alerting in near real time.
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
LogRhythm was simpler to set up and configure as well as extract information from. It also was less intrusive in terms of how many appliances were needed to implement. We were up and running within 5 hours to start accepting log sources. We selected LogRhythm as well since …
Chose LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform
I work with every SIEM on the market and I believe LogRhythm simply provides the best overall value in terms of price, incident response capability, content capability, and ease of engineering.
New Relic
Chose New Relic
Before start using New Relic, we had a custom Grafana monitoring tool configured for our clients. Altough functional, it took too much time to add new alerts and monitoring features. New Relic is way easier and simpler to to configure and saves us a lot of time spent not only …
Chose New Relic
Data Dog has solutions that look more attractive, but not at their price point. We have also tried to build a solution straight from the Cloud, where our business is built, but some things are too hard to replicate. This shows that New Relic is useful and helps our efficiency.
Chose New Relic
New Relic continuously focusing on Open Telemetry and agentic AI integrations which is helping users to focus on the latest technology and as we all know that in future Observability will be mostly on OTel concept and AI driven and New Relic focusing on those area.
Apart from …
Chose New Relic
The main reason is its pricing models which is value for money with respect to its features and it supports the OTEL related integrations which helps us to adopt the updations of Otel very easily and also it gives us flexible to drop the data in different stages through the …

Chose New Relic
New Relic stood out to us primarily because of its all-in one approach, combining APM, infra monitoring, logs and alerts in single platform. Compared to other tools we evaluated, if offered a smoother on boarding experience and required less stitching together of different …
Chose New Relic
Because of its easy to use, its good features, value for money.
Chose New Relic
Less expensive than datadog and sentry with almost everything we need. Less effort to set up and maintain than elastic search and kibana so saved a ton on engineering bandwidth which would have otherwise been lost.
Chose New Relic
Solarwinds was good until they migrated to a new kind of offering and discounting the old product making it more expensive and less flexible for our specific use-case.
The free trial also helped me try and get started without needing to commit.
I think right now New Relic is the …
Chose New Relic
New Relic is the easiest to adopt, the price is in line with the other tools, and it has the lowest threshold to cross in order to learn the system and the platform. Adopting OpenTelemetry has been helpful in getting data aligned, and their documentation has been sufficient for …
Chose New Relic
The New Relic Platform addresses this challenge with the new plugin architecture. Plugins provide a way to monitor each of these technologies, extending the New Relic interface with custom-made dashboards specific to each. They pair the reporting of metrics specific to the …
Chose New Relic
We selected TrackJS for error monitoring and New Relic for site speed monitoring. TrackJS is a much easier to use tool for JS error monitoring, so we never ended up consolidating tools or moving over to New Relic permanently. We use New Relic for site speed monitoring and …
Chose New Relic
New Relic is the most full-featured offering that we've found, and is incredibly easy to start using with a PHP app. The New Relic agent is installed as a PHP extension so it is able to monitor and track the performance of any PHP app being run by the web server. Other tools …
Chose New Relic
At the time, we selected New Relic for the broad coverage it could provide over our landscape.
Chose New Relic
New Relic is used by developers and support teams at our organisation - Splunk is used more in security monitoring by our SecOps team - not sure how they might compare doing the same job
Chose New Relic
Similar features, the New Relic data ingestion costs are better and UI better as well
Chose New Relic
New Relic in my opinion is a lot better than a tool like Datadog and Splunk. Cost in my opinion is the biggest concern.
Chose New Relic
The overlap is not large, but the one advantage of the speed curve is retention: data is available permanently, which allows you to investigate the hypothesis with data collected before formulating the hypothesis. This has proven very effective for us.

This is an amazing tool if you have a Juniper infrastructure. It has served us well in dealing with networking monitoring, security event analysis, and analyzing all the data that transverses our network. We haven't run into any situations where this isn't a good product to utilize unless we are dealing with other manufacturers like Cisco products.

LogRhythm is good for providing a comprehensive view of the environment. It gives a great outline of whatever is going on in our servers and systems regarding security malfunctions. The SIEM sends real-time notifications when there are some occurrences; like creating a new user and inappropriate login attempts. It also avails a good use case that meets our HIPAA compliance.

I have used New Relic in different scenarios like monitoring my production infrastructure and applications which helps us to reduce the downtime of my applications and websites and also I have used the synthetic monitoring feature which helps to proactively monitor our websites availability. Along with this I have also used New Relic for cloud resources cost monitoring which helps to reduce my cloud cost. Also I have used mobile application monitoring which helps me to trace the sessions easily and I can easily reduce my RCA through the help of that.

Pros
  • Analytics.
  • Network monitoring/behavior.
  • Security issue detection.

  • LogRhythm is a great SIEM to learn content on because the building blocks are very intuitive and easy to implement. All of the concepts relevant to content development are literally represented as drag and drop building blocks that can be easily manipulated.
  • The statistical building blocks contain powerful anomaly detection capabilities that are extremely difficult to implement in other SIEMs or not possible at all.
  • LogRhythm does better event classification than any other SIEM by far. My team typically drops all classification schemes from default installations of SIEMs and rebuilds them from scratch. I can actually use LogRhythms event classifications in rules without worrying about excessive partial matches or correlating unwanted events.

  • New Relic APM allows us to follow up transactions across services and trace performance bottlenecks in real-time, crucial when monitoring the processing of energy loads or predictive maintenance algorithms.
  • It gives us deep visibility into our cloud servers, containers and IOT gateways, so we can catch CPU spikes or memory leaks which can impact the data we ingest from the field devices.
  • We develop custom dashboards for monitoring trends of power consumption, abnormality in sensors and API health. In conjunction with alerting, it makes sure we are fixing issues before customers even see them.

Cons
  • User training.
  • Capability for other products.
  • While searching for log events is quick, the interface isn't as user-friendly as other SIEM products.
  • Many of the administrative/management functions are only available through the full LogRhythm desktop console, not through the web console.
  • The LogRhythm agent, when used for FIM and RIM, is very memory intensive.

  • Support for SQL like query with more functional features of analysis while viewing distributed tracing.
  • support for very low level specific integration from APIs to classes to functions to piece of code
  • More detailed documentation, as we faced issues while integrating for the first time.

LogRhythm is focused on SIEM. That is their core business. Cost of operations, feature set and ease of use. The Log Rhythm support team is outstanding. Overall reliability is good. Reporting module needs some improvement and LR is promising that there will be significant improvements in future releases.

I have not yet found any similar product that offers me this range of features to help us keep our online service fast and reliable. Besides this, New Relic is constantly evolving by adding new plugins to emerging technologies and platforms. Server performance measuring features are a key point as our user database grows.

Usability

LogRhythm does a rather decent job of making the functionality advanced (allowing for advanced keyword & field searching, use of "AND" as well as "OR" statements in the search bar) while keeping it accessible (by not requiring a specific syntax to do quick searches). This combined with a user interface that has headings and labels that are intuitive is very helpful.

I have given this much rating as I am used New Relic in different sectors and for different use cases like its K8s monitoring, infra monitoring, full stack monitoring as compare to other tools New Relic gives data in a formatted and connected way, and also it is giving us value for money. It also launches new features day by day which helps users to track the issue very quickly. It also supports OTel integrations which is the latest trend of observability tools. thats why I had given this much rating to New Relic.

Support has always been fantastic for this product compared to many other support providers I've worked with. They are always very friendly and seem to be well trained and knowledgeable and never have to wait long for a solution. We usually get the issue fixed in the first call, but also we really haven't had to use support a ton so that's also a plus

The support team has been really helpful and resolved most of the issues on time. However, for a couple of issues, several follow-ups were needed to elicit a reasonable response. The issue was deeply technical and could have been investigated only by their Architects, and bringing them into the ticket took longer than needed

  • Buy professional services.
  • Buy and implement the system if possible.
  • Remember that the end point log configuration may require other teams in your company to assist you in getting the desired logs from all resources.
  • Attend the end user and daily operations training after a period of usage so you are not overwhelmed with information on concepts not yet seen.
  • Don't be afraid to call for help during your first months of use.
  • Don't close any ticket until you are sure the expected results are verified.
  • Use the community forums to discuss issues with your peers.
  • Watch the training videos offered by L R University.

The documentation was clear and concise; the only issue we ran into was custom application naming. Due to HTTPD mod_fcgid and the need for the application name to be set in php.ini (not in .htaccess or the virtual host directive) ... we had issues setting this up.

They need to improve their design cycle, with a cycle that's completely focused on bug fixing and reliability, without introducing any new features to improve the system's overall reliability. They also need to improve their API, as now all security solutions should talk very well with each other, which APIs can enable.

  • One of the positive impacts that we experienced from LogRhythm NextGen SIEM Platform is the Dynamic Alarming System. It shows the recent tickets, and we know what exactly to prioritize at the start of the day.
  • The search tool also helped us trace back wireless users by log correlation that we almost gave up our hope for.
  • A slightly negative impact that can be featured it relying too much on it. We have been a victim of a false alarm and went on a completely wrong direction until we tallied with the Log source and found the problem. It is good, but we must correspond against the log source to be confirmed.

  • We spend six figures on this solution to avoid costs of a broken website.
  • We could save more on cloud services (GCP, Azure, AWS) if New Relic allowed its licenses to be purchased through other marketplaces.
  • New Relic handles some of the same operations that higher priced competitors do.
