Quickbase is easier to implement than a LAMP stack.
Knack's licensing is far superior to Quickbase. Quickbase and the crazy cost per user make it hard to develop an application that is shared by our customers. Knack gives us similar functionality at a fraction of the cost.

At the time we did not have a website to host MySQL so using QuickBase on the cloud was the best solution. It allowed another person and myself the ability to log in and make changes. We were also able to present it to people in other areas.
