Well suited: Data management to internal team members who have access to a computer or need to send notifications to external parties. We use Quick Base to manage orders and communicate to our customers on the status of each order.Less appropriate: As an interface to customers to allow for direct communication into Quick Base - users can access a survey page, but there are limits on engagement with the app not being user-friendly with the latest features like fingerprint reading or face ID.

Pros

Quick Base

  • Quick Base is easy to change, allowing us to adapt to our clients' changing needs. It's even so easy that sometimes project managers can make the changes themselves, rather than relying on a person dedicated to software development.
  • We don't have to worry about hosting and security. We can simply use it and share it with collaborators without going through all the red tape of exposing an internal server to outside parties.
  • The features of Quick Base allow us to do almost everything we need natively, so there's rarely a need to build custom solutions or hire third-party developers.

Cons

Quick Base

  • It's a database but we would like to use the tool for analytics due the type of information we have in it.
  • They're working on a true mobile app now but that has been something we have wanted.
  • System reports could used some better formatting.

With Salesforce being such a presence in business operations, we've had to "fend off" being asked to replace our QB apps with in-house/out of the box apps from Salesforce. With the cost of Quick Base and having to justify keeping it instead of Salesforce, it's been a challenge we've been fighting.

Quick Base has done everything we have asked it to do and then some. Our original goal was to have one system for CRM that encompassed both the sales process and the customer management. We have gone w-a-y beyond that with analytics, project management, system bug logging, and historical effort reporting.

I gave it a 10, but it should be a 9.99. They do a nice job of keeping the application running. The application can drag a bit when you have thousands of users accessing the application concurrently. We experienced this with large scale implementations.

The online training was adequate. Intuit does a nice job of creating blog posts on training topics also.

The reason I'm not satisfied fully was not Quick Base's fault, but an internal problem. We were under funded, under staffed and users were allowed to avoid the system if they wanted. The amazing success that anyone used it should be looked at as Quick Base's strength

Alternatives Considered

Quick Base

I would prefer to use Quick Base because it's customizable. I don't have to see what I don't want to see. I can make it look the way I want it to look. No other software does that as well as Quick Base.

Return on Investment

  • Elimination of multiple points for data entry is the first impact that we have realized. This time saver is measurable and quite impactfull, it provides opportunity for people to spend their time on more valuable tasks.
  • Business process is something we are continually striving to streamline and improve and quite possibly eliminate is valuable to the business.
  • Some things are not as easily measurable because of the additional functionality which we did not have prior to QuickBase.
