Overall Satisfaction with Quickbase

We sell and install residential solar power systems throughout the United States. There are many steps to successfully manage these Projects each with its own unique datapoints, workflows and metrics. Quickbase enables us to customize our app to fit our unique business needs, without the necessity to write lots of code. We are able to pivot when necessary and quickly test new ideas. We define our own workflows, instead of relying on an inflexible pre-built "solution."

Pros

  • Rapidly bring new ideas to life
  • Great authentication and authorization system out of the box
  • Connects with many major third-party services (via Pipelines)
  • Reporting and Dashboards are awesome
  • Excellent emails notification system to keep us in the loop when data changes
  • Intuitive UI for building forms and reports
  • Nice playground to test new ideas

Cons

  • More transparency with bugs and upcoming features
  • More transparency and pricing consistency when renewing our annual contract
  • Integration with more third party services (via Pipelines Channels)
  • Ability to handle larger datasets which tend to struggle in the 1 million record range
  • We can hold hundreds of people accountable for their performance metrics
Quickbase was selected before I can onboard, but it's flexibility definitely suite our business needs.

I'd say Quickbase will work well for most smaller to medium sized businesses. We've build workflows for each department in our company for our Team to accomplish their goals. This includes end-to-end processes to manage projects, from a list of things to get done, the status of each item, and benchmarking against performance (SLAs). We then put these things together into nice dashboards so each department has a central hub where they can focus the attention.

Things start to fall short when dealing with volumes of records (1M+) or heavier API traffic.
