Namely

Namely is especially well-suited for small to mid-sized companies that are looking to shift core HRIS functions under a single platform. Everything works as smoothly as advertised- payroll, benefits, time and attendance, workflows, onboarding. Especially if the employee population is comfortable with social media sites; Namely's landing page functions like an internal Facebook feed.Namely might not be well-suited for companies that have a significant employee population outside of the US . We've had some issues integrating our international employees into the core HRIS and benefits modules.

Reflektive

Reflektive is well suited for medium to large organizations where cross-functional work is a regular occurrence. It isn't meant to be used for employee reviews, self-reviews, or take the place of a corporate communications platform; rather, it is meant to do one thing - serve as a public soapbox and repository for giving and receiving employee gratitude.

Pros

Namely

  • Time off management - simple and efficient way to submit/approve and keep track of the remaining days. It covers all types of legal time off.
  • Goals setting - Namely has a mature enough framework that you can configure based on the company's requirements.
  • Organization chart - a nice visual display of the company hierarchy structure.
Cristian Bodnarasec | TrustRadius Reviewer

Reflektive

  • In larger organizations, it is difficult to communicate and share news with everyone without sending all-agency emails. Reflektive lets you provide that feedback or recognition for everyone to see, but saves your inbox from unnecessary emails.
  • The weekly roundup email highlights a few of the most recent recognitions. It’s nice to see a brief highlight, without having to get notifications for each post.
  • Reflektive let’s you tag multiple people in a post, so you can thank a whole team in one post.

Cons

Namely

  • Namely Payroll can be confusing as it doesn't link directly with HRIS time off. It is another platform and there is a lot of duplicating information, increasing potential for errors. There is a lot of manual entering and not great ways to input data for multiple employees at once.
  • The time sheets are not as simple as we'd like. We have a lot of employee errors with these on a regular base. You need to save on each page that you make updates on and the search features for approvers aren't as user friendly as we'd like. (This is separate from the time feature which is an additional expense, we don't use this.)
  • The time off doesn't link directly with payroll and employees have to enter time off twice. This could be user error on our end, but we've been told a few different answers from Namely help as they've made some changes recently. (2020)
  • Namely is constantly updating features but it feels sporadic and is a lot of time and energy to learn how things have changed.
  • Performance reviews are a bit tricky to learn how to use because you have to learn the language that Namely uses. They don't seem very obvious to use. I think their capability is good, but it takes some learning to set them up correctly. Our managers have had some difficulty with them.
  • In general, it feels a bit difficult to make edits and changes simply and efficiently.

Reflektive

  • Reflektive often didn't do the best job informing users about the product changes we could expect to see.
  • Oftentimes, it was hard to know exactly who would see what in the system. We had to go to our customer service rep for a lot of questions that we wished were more thoroughly explained in the help center.

Administrators and employees love Namely. It is very easy to use and streamlined. Employees stay engaged with news feed updates and enjoy all the self service options. The time cards are very easy to access and clocking in and out for non-exempt employees is a breeze. Namely is part of our family.

Overall, Namely is a very user friendly platform, most of the functionality can be learned with out much training or guidance. They have designed it to be modeled similar to other social media sites interface which makes it clean in design and easy to navigate. If you do have someone at your organization that is less tech savvy, one of the most impressive parts of Namely continues to be their client support. They will support you and give guidance in every aspect if its training or just pointing out a feature and how it works

Bryan at Namely Time is awesome to work with. I knew when I called him, most of the time, he knew the answer but if he didn't, he would figure it out and call me right back. ACA support people just lack the knowledge. Star at Namely Benefits is also great to work with.

Reflektive is great with support. From the beginning, when it comes to training materials for those new to Reflektive, to clearly rolling out updates in the interface or releasing new features, everything is very clear and communicated solidly. Support is always available when needed, and answers are easy to find when support is not available.

Alternatives Considered

Namely

We wanted a cutting edge product that our employees would love. We saw that in Namely. They are fully in the cloud so it can be accessed anywhere. They also have a beautiful interface that makes life so much easier. They also have a feature that an admin users can "view as" which helps me trouble shoot for employees if they have questions so that I do not have to ask them to send screen shots or run to their desk. The customer support from Namely is also awesome. I have a great relationship with my account manager and she is always there to help me. Namely is always creating new things for their platform. I have no doubt that they will continue evolving which makes me excited for the future with this platform.

Reflektive

My company selected Reflektive due to the competitive pricing and clean and easy to use interface. We could tell up front that the software development team was going to partner closely with us to make our experience great! We preferred the collaborative approach articulated by the Reflektive team in comparison to large incumbents in the space. If you really want to take rewards and recognition to the next level -- choose Reflektive

Return on Investment

Namely

  • We were able to standardize processes much more easily with Namely. Without Namely it would be difficult to get 10 locations to follow the same procedure. But with Namely, we're able to set up the workflow and the manager just follows along on his computer.
  • Payroll mistakes are virtually nonexistent with Namely.

  • The C Level group loves my contributions which gives me more visibility
  • My AEs compete to write about me, which gives me more confidence to improve their opps
