Chose SimpleTexting
We did use SimpleTexting and have it still but we have gone over to NICE almost exclusively in order to serve larger customer base and have more trackable metrics for our agents. Not only that but NICE has more tools like calling that we were looking for as we grew.
Chose SimpleTexting
I like Google Voice but it doesn't automatically send texts or let you know if numbers are invalid and such. There is no limit with characters or credits required for Google Voice, though which is a big plus.
Chose SimpleTexting
SimpleTexting is just simple. From the pricing to the interface, it stacks up against the competition by just being as powerful and simple as possible. No extra distractions or confusion. For our company, we wanted texting software that we could easily upsell and integrate into …
Chose SimpleTexting
We used a rival company called Textedly. The experience top to bottom was better with SimpleTexting, from pricing to simplicity of features to custom service to ease of accessing data to overall functionality. Would recommend SimpleTexting over many competitors in a heartbeat …
Chose SimpleTexting
I don't remember the other products we've reviewed. I do have to say that we will be moving to Salesforce and hope that SimpleTexting integrates with it. As a nonprofit, we definitely would have reviewed free or next to free products. We appreciate that SimpleTexting provides a …
Chose SimpleTexting
TextMarks offered all the features/functions we were looking for, especially their "Text for Info" function. We were looking for a solution that would simply allow people to receive information without actually subscribing into a list. However, the cost was too high.

Chose SimpleTexting
Other sites, as mentioned before, don't retain the data and actually stopped working for us whereas we have not had a problem with SimpleTexting. We've only had questions that are then answered!
Chose SimpleTexting
We have only ever used SimpleTexting for SMS marketing.
Chose SimpleTexting
I have not used any other tools similar to SimpleTexting before. I can say that I was very satisfied by the product and service I received by SImpleText. I feel encouraged to continue using them in the future for any in-person event activities or marketing events.
Chose SimpleTexting
We chose SimpleTexting based on their starting messaging options as well as the no limitations on the number of keywords we can use. EZ Texting required a much more costly monthly commitment with fewer features that applied to our organization. We felt that SimpleTexting would …

MyCase previously didn't have texting (it does now). When we chose Zipwhip, there was nothing out there at the time that compared to it. We selected Zipwhip because it was a low-cost and easy-to-use add-on to our tech stack that allowed us to communicate quickly with people, …
Chose Twilio Zipwhip (discontinued)
We used DYL prior to getting Zipwhip but DYL is more expensive and is not integrated with our CRM.
Chose Twilio Zipwhip (discontinued)
While we still use Dialpad for calls since Zipwhip does not support calls, Dialpad gave us far less visibility into employee communications. We were always spending a lot of time discussing something that an employee said to another user without having the full context of the …
Chose Twilio Zipwhip (discontinued)
Zipwhip is just a little bit more user-friendly than AliveChat because it allows you to text people on more scale. AliveChat has a great website chat function, but its texting platform is a little more clunky than Zipwhip. Zipwhip is a little more expensive but definitely the …

We hadn't really looked at other services before choosing Zipwhip as there were not a lot of test-to-landline companies when we began looking. The price was right and the customer service was amazing. It was easy to learn the software and to onboard our entire team. When we …
Chose Twilio Zipwhip (discontinued)
We mainly use EZ Texting to bulk text when needed and we use Dialpad for our 1 on 1 communications via text now. Our voice is through Dialpad so it is a lot more efficient for agents to be in one place for all manners of communication. EZ Texting allows us to bulk text where …

None. I wasn't involved in the decision making, however, I like all the options Zipwhip has to offer.
Chose Twilio Zipwhip (discontinued)
Enabling the business number is a key feature for us. Also, their pricing is all inclusive which is super helpful and a lot easier when it is not per text pricing model for our kind of business and reselling.

SimpleTexting has been wonderful for the purposes for which we signed up. We wanted an easy-to-use platform that allowed 2-way texting, assigned a phone number, had the ability to collect phone numbers/contact easily (whether through an import or a user sign-up, spoiler SimpleTexting has both), etc. It has provided all of that and more easily, without a contract. And the platform is so easy to use for our team. One of the only issues we're having is wanting to expand our use of SimpleTexting, and using multiple options for texting (i.e., shortcode, toll-free, landline/business enabling) has been difficult on one account.

Zipwhip is well suited for brief communication at scale. Our Fan services reps after close to 1,000 accounts, and this allows them to get out quick messages at scale. It is less appropriate for longer messages where email or a phone call is the better route to reach out.

Pros
  • SimpleTexting is easy to use. Multiple users can access the dashboard and send texts and manage contacts
  • We have had great success running multiple promotions at once by using different keywords to trigger various offers. For example, one keyword will trigger a free service, and another keyword will trigger a discount off product or service.
  • Simpletexting lets us segment our list which is extremely helpful in sending out market specific offers

  • Scheduled texts - when scheduling an appointment, we schedule a text to be sent prior to this appointment
  • Automations - we can set up auto texts and responses

Cons
  • A lot of glitches and bugs, with promised fixes that keep dragging on for some time.
  • Mobile notifications are very buggy. You have to keep force-closing the app and re-opening it multiple times to get the notifications to refresh.
  • Constant toggling of 'Unread' and 'All' on mobile or desktop to get the notifications to clear and show up as opened, otherwise it will imply it's not read.
  • Also, sometimes new notifications don't show up.

  • I would like the quick-use app that pulls from the taskbar to be able to hold more characters- It can only do 250 while the main screen can do 600.
  • The ability to send video through this program would significantly enhance its functionality for us.

Usability
No answers on this topic
It was very easy for users to use, straight forward, and user friendly. The desktop app is very basic but easy to reply to an incoming text, but the user had to know to allow Chrome notifications to see new incoming text via the web browser, which is how they mainly used it.

With SimpleTexting updating little things here and there almost daily. We reach out to their support team constantly. They have one of the best response rates I have ever experienced! Normally it takes less than a minute to speak to a real person, but even if they are busy they have an answer bot send you articles to see if you can solve the issue yourself first! One of the best support teams ever

We hadn't really looked at other services before choosing Zipwhip as there were not a lot of test-to-landline companies when we began looking. The price was right and the customer service was amazing. It was easy to learn the software and to onboard our entire team. When we began letting our customers know about the new texting capability we had, they were curious about it and grew to love it. Because we're able to link it with their trip, they not only can receive status updates but also a link to our GPS, so they can see where their chauffeur and vehicle are in real-time, along with a photo of the chauffeur and the vehicle. This function is perhaps our corporate clients' most favorite feature as they don't have to call to see where the vehicle for their VIP is; they can watch it in real-time. For group work, Zipwhip lets us send the program manager customized updates for all of their booked trips. This is such a time saver in so many ways. Time is money and for a small business, there are many ways that this helps. Our employees spend less time on the phone and productivity is increased. Texting is great too as it serves as documentation should any issues arise.

Return on Investment
  • Because we are able to reach more people through subscribing, our number of donations has increased and the number of volunteers has increased. We have gone from an average of 5 volunteers an even to 25-30. Our donations increased by 25%.

  • They out of the blue raised the price 300% on us that negatively impacted the budget we had planned out for the year.
  • Initially it did help increase contact rates.
  • Time consuming and hard to manage.
