We use ADP for Time and Attendance and processing bi-weekly payroll
Pros
Offers lots of webinars to learn from
Great service when calling for assistance
Friendly interactions, never make you feel like you are asking a silly question
Cons
Reporting is not the most user friendly. Comes down to wording
Follow up from Sales Team who initiated the sign up. Seem to be ghosted by our sales rep, no follow up after transition from implementation to using service center for assistance

Implementation teams across Canada, so you are usually able to reach out to someone given time zone differences. I could email a question at the end of my work day and have the response in my In Box when I returned to work the next day as team was on East Coast.
Until late 2021, [...] used ADP mainly for payroll. When HR was hired (me), I began utilizing the ADP Workforce Now platform to include onboarding, The only module we have not been able to launch effectively is performance. It is more a mindset then technical -- but also some challenges with building the right performance structure that will work for our team. Recruitment, time and attendance, performance and analytics is working well. Each of these modules have had so much value -- the onboarding is streamlined and a gamechanger as a good portion of employees are remote (pilots) and payroll process is more streamlined overall. The recruitment module was a slow change for hiring managers but we have made great progress. The time and attendance and reports are of great value for our maintenance and the billing and analytics are just now being leveraged more than ever. I am excited next to share the analytics with the leadership team -- providing data to assist in decision making and building strategy. A great platform for our business and hoping to leverage further in the future.
Pros
Annual reviews
Improvements with App
Friendly and supportive technical support
Team members working well together
A wealth of training materials
Cons
Company page - layout options and technical challenges --- as well not visible on APP. We were hopeful this page could be a communication tool for employees.
Implementation of modules in general. We have struggled in the past with limited timelines for launching --- our team is small and juggle many tasks and takes us longer to launch.
Technical support. The technical teams are technical -- makes it difficult to have them understand HR, the dynamics of our company and what we are trying to accomplish.
Technical support. Calling the main lines are time consuming and sometimes frustrating. The technical teams are technical -- so makes it difficult to have them understand HR, the dynamics of our company and what we are trying to accomplish.

I was thrilled that [...] had ADP Workforce Now. The previous small organizations I worked with did not have an HRIS system -- we relied on excel sheets and hard copy time cards. It was painful. A better cost model could help. We have access to performance module but it is not implemented and we are still being billed for it. We are federally regulated and aviation based so other tools for compensation ie. benchmarking are not aligned.
We use ADP Workforce Now as our centralized system for payroll and HR. It helps us automate payroll processing, reduce errors, maintain compliance, and keep accurate employee records in one place.
Our use includes end-to-end payroll, employee lifecycle changes, benefits and deductions, and reporting, along with general ledger mapping to support accounting and audits.
Pros
time and attendance
recruitment module
onboarding hire/rehire
Cons
notifications for timecard approvals to managers
broadcasting (more then 500 characters)
performance reviews
Likelihood to Recommend
It works well for organizations our size, and wanting to do things automated by the system

ADP is used to process payrolls for our US and Canada companies. This includes time and attendance, benefits, onboarding, reporting. ADP gives us the ability to have a full service payroll provider that customizable and at the same time structured to work without a lot of modifications. The interface is clean, sharp and very user friendly, it isn't overly complicated but is very versatile.
Pros
interface/good layout
intuitive and logical set up for time off policies
simple reporting structure
Cons
search employee function should be standard
standard reports for payroll preview for US and CAN
some "How To" documents don't exist for things I would have expected them to or were too broad. ie amend a W2
Likelihood to Recommend
Again the interface is very intuitive, it just makes sense. I like the ability to just enter total hours each day for an employee into the timecards. Having the ability to create multiple new hire templates means I can customize them to each country/company/pay group I can stream line the process and not waste time entering/reviewing sections that aren't relevant.
ADP Workforce Now provided a single platform to handle HR and payroll. Instead of using multiple software programs, ADP Workforce Now makes the processes easier by having them all in one spot. This provides a seamless workflow and is a cost saving measure. Having used multiple platforms in the past, I was very excited to have all of the payroll and HR functions in one easy to use platform.
Pros
Payroll processing
Time and Attendance
HR modules
Cons
Performance evaluations
Likelihood to Recommend
For companies that combine HR and payroll roles, having everything on one platform is a great way to be able to access all aspects of both HR and payroll.

Pros
Payroll Compliance
Time & Attendance

Customer Service
Cons
PTO approvals where you don't have to log in to the system
Modern HRIS/ People Management Platform
Document Storage without the need to use cloud or other 3rd party vendor
A dedicated Client Support Team that can handle both CAD and US Payroll
Reports that can combine both data from both timecard and pay statement information
A more consistent client support team, it tends to change more frequently
Re: SmartCompliance, I wish that there's a way to communicate to your tax department directly for some follow up issues
Continuous improvements or enhancement in the system
Likelihood to Recommend
I would still recommend ADP Workforce Now, as ADP is a very reputable and dependable company when it comes to payroll processing and compliance, despite some of its shortcomings. I believe there is no perfect system. However, their HRIS system and overall platform still need improvement and enhancement. Compared to newer providers, ADP seems to be falling behind in terms of technology. I continue to stick with ADP because of its reputation and solid background, but it wouldn’t hurt for the company to revisit technological advancements in order to further improve the product.

I’ve worked with ADP’s payroll solutions in both Canada and the US for over 20 years, and in my experience, they have consistently been leaders in delivering exceptional payroll software. Their integrated tax solutions for filing and remittance truly set them apart from competitors. I also value the opportunity to work closely with their expert payroll specialists, both for day‑to‑day support and for implementation services as we add new payroll codes through acquisitions. I feel confident and secure in my ongoing partnership with ADP and would highly recommend their payroll solutions.
Pros
Presents information in a thoughtful, well‑structured, and logical manner.
Ad hoc reporting makes it easy to review and generate reports on all available data fields.
Cons
Ensure company codes are alphabetized in the payroll dashboard and that the chosen sort order is retained.
Ensure company codes are alphabetized in the selection list when generating reports.
Be able to connect directly with tax services rather than going through an account manager, allowing cases to be resolved more efficiently.
Likelihood to Recommend
Implementing new codes due to acquisitions is something ADP Workforce Now does exceptionally well. They provide dedicated implementation specialists who are knowledgeable, professional, and truly excellent to work with.
One limitation I’ve encountered is the inability to view both Canadian and US information within a single database. I’ve been told this is only possible if we also purchase the ADP HR solution, and in my opinion, that requirement is a significant drawback for organizations considering this product.
ADP Workforce Now is our primary payroll and human resources system. All employees use the self-service module for submitting time off requests. As an HR department, we use it for payroll processing, tracking time off, and recording all of our employee personal and employment data.
Pros
Reporting
Time Off request workflows
Ease of use for end users
Cons
Our current version is being phased out, and there are a lot of "bugs" not being fixed
More customizable options. I feel there is a lot of functionality we are not able to use, that just doesn't suit our organization
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well-suited, as previously mentioned, in the time off modules. It is helpful that we can setup multiple level workflows. As an educational institution, it would be great to have an area to capture specific course codes. We have also had to customize a fair bit to capture contract dates, as well as employees that have multiple contracts.

We use ADP Workforce Now to process 3 separate payrolls. In addition to processing payroll we integrated the following modules, benefits, compensation and performance, time and attendance, onboarding, Voice of Employee, and learning management. This has allowed us to have a central portal for all payroll and HR activities. This improves our workplace efficiency's and maintains a single source 'of truth'.
Pros
Filing CRA obligations and reduces the risk of missed deadlines
Time and Attendance tracking has significantly reduced payroll related errors
Vacation and time off tracking has allowed us to enforce our vacation policy and reduce missed time away
The benefits module and carrier connect has simplified benefits admin
Cons
The complexity of the platform can be overwhelming in the beginning
Would like to have online benefits enrollment
Likelihood to Recommend
The time and attendance module is very good at time tracking and flow through to payroll. Automated time off flow, scheduling, and managing complex payroll requirements. The flexibility in punch in/out options and, as well, standard weekly scheduling. In the context of running payroll cycles of both bi-weekly and semi-monthly the module is super flexible.
ADP Workforce Now is used for onboarding integration, processing payroll and maintaining employee master data. Time off balances are also maintained in ADP Workforce Now. ADP Workforce Now allows simplicity of payroll processing, performing government remittances and issuances of T4s and ROEs. Master data records in ADP Workforce Now allows us to pull reporting on different data and records are kept safe.
Pros
Payroll processing
Government remittances
Reporting
Cons
Partial time off accruals on terminations or leaves
Partial salary calculation on hire and terminations mid payroll cycle
Zeroing time off balances upon payout during terminations
Likelihood to Recommend
Same as described in previous bullet responses for pros and cons of the system.
