Data sources seems to be highly compatible as long as data sources are native to AWS infrastructure, with extension for other open sourced adopters.

We use Quicksight to connect to S3 data sources via Athena and Redshift. It has a bunch of other connectors we have explored like connectors to Salesforce, Twitter, Redshift and other, but it is still far behind some of the other tools in the market space. We have hope it will become a better product over time.

All of the data that feeds into Amazon QuickSight comes from our CRM, Clarity. We do not have data coming in from any other sources. Some of the data that comes in is in real-time and some of the data only updates every 24 hours. Overall, the API feed of data seems to be very seamless and there have not been any hiccups in the feed.

Quicksight is providing some support to different databases, we can connect to any of the AWS storage which is most important if we talk about the third party database. The supports are very limited when we compare it with the leading reporting tools like Tableau WebFOCUS.
