TrustRadius Insights are summaries of user sentiment data from TrustRadius reviews and, when necessary, 3rd-party data sources. Have feedback on this content? Let us know!

Simple and Easy to Use Scanner: Users have found the website scanner of Comodo cWatch to be simple and easy to use. Several reviewers have mentioned that by entering their domain or subdomain, the scanner was able to effectively scan their websites. Additionally, users appreciated the deep scanner feature which allowed them to enter their FTP details for a more thorough scan.

Trust Seal Feature Builds Confidence: Many users appreciated the Trust Seal feature offered by Comodo cWatch. This seal can be placed on the website to assure customers that no malware was found, thus building confidence. The inclusion of this feature has been positively received as it helps establish trust with customers.

Affordable Pricing and 30-Day Trial: Several reviewers have mentioned that they find the pricing of Comodo cWatch to be affordable. Along with this, users appreciate the availability of a 30-day trial period before making a purchase. This allows potential customers to try out the product and determine if it meets their needs without committing financially upfront.

Inconvenient backup plan: Some users have expressed frustration that backups are not included in the plan, which can be inconvenient for them as it requires them to find alternative ways to back up their data.

Slow support response time: Several reviewers have reported dissatisfaction with the support team's slow response time and prolonged back-and-forth communication during support interactions. This delays issue resolution and can be frustrating for users seeking timely assistance.

Intermittent ad-blocker feature: Users have mentioned that the ad-blocker feature works intermittently, occasionally failing to block ads. This inconsistency undermines its effectiveness and can lead to a less reliable browsing experience.

Comodo cWatch is security software for websites. One of my websites was repeatedly being flagged for suspicious activity, and we wanted to make sure that it didn't get hacked. cWatch is supposed to continuously scan your site and server for malware.
  • on demand scanning - you can set up a scan whenever you like.
  • The server would never fully connect - I contacted support about this, and they were unable to solve the issue as well.
  • Malware warnings with no solutions - We would often get malware warnings after a scan but no meaningful way to resolve them. No solutions or steps were offered. Later we learned that you have to contact the company and have them do a clean-up, but this is not clear to the first-time user.
If you are well versed with servers and server security and just need a scanning tool but can do malware mitigation yourself, then you'd probably be ok with this. If you are not, there are a lot of steps to even connect your server and get it to scan correctly, and no mitigation steps are made immediately obvious should there be a threat, so it's a lot for an unfamiliar or beginner user.
  • malware scanning on the site itself and the server.
  • cleaning up any malware that was found.
  • cWatch didn't really end up helping with our issue in the end, and it seemed like it was a waste to sign up for a year of it. At the time, there were no money-back guarantees, so we were stuck with it. It was used for scanning but didn't offer much value to us when it came down to it. We ended up canceling after the year was over.
Support is chat only and was not very easy to deal with. I had to spend hours on chat with them just to get my server connected properly. I was getting cookie cutter answers for a while before they were able to get someone more higher up to me. Didn't seem US based either.
Premium support was not an option for purchase that I could see.
No
I would not describe any of my customer service interactions with Comodo cWatch as exceptional in a good way unfortunately. The chat only agents were very frustrating to talk to, my issues took multiple contact to get fixed, and overall was just not a positive experience.
