We primarily use Hootsuite for scheduling, posting, and analyzing performance of social posts across our channels. We anticipate doing more with campaigns and exploring OwlyGPT more often in the near term.
Pros
Analytics: The insights we glean are important to how we develop and plan content.
Amplification: In just a short period of time using Amplify, we're seeing real movement on our metrics.
Organization: Just thinking back to how we managed before, I'm confident that we have everything we need in Hootsuite to keep the function going if someone is OOO.
Cons
Our accounts seem to disconnect fairly frequently
Logging in can be an issue. I'm no longer needed day-to-day, but when I do log in, the 2FA has been a chore and the process can be streamlined.
The Listening function is a little clunky and slow, but the insights are solid.

Hootsuite presents my team everything we need to manage the social media function. Even writing the "what can be improved" section strained me, because there really isn't a whole lot to complain about. At this point, I (and my social media manager) need to explore the platform more, specifically OwlyGPT, campaigns, and listening. It's pretty much everything we need right now.
We use Hootsuite to schedule content for our organization's social media presence. Hootsuite serves as a one-stop shop for content scheduling, analytics, account moderation, and reporting, saving us valuable time so we can stay on top of social trends and manage our brand. We use Hootsuite daily to complete important tasks within the scope of our social media management and I have personally used it for over 10 years throughout a variety of roles to manage social media content.
Pros
content scheduling
reporting
DM and comment moderation
Cons
API access (somewhat out of their control)
Product updates can be clunky

Hootsuite is great for teams working together to manage multiple social media accounts. It may not be necessary for smaller businesses that primarily manage one social media account, but working for an organization that has dozens of social media accounts, it is an amazing tool. I have heavily relied on Hootsuite for almost 10 years now managing anything from an executive's social media presence to a large-scale, multi-account enterprise presence.
We use Hootsuite to schedule social media posts & track analytics/data on our posts. Before Hootsuite, we would manually log in to Instagram/Facebook/LinkedIn separately to post, which was very time-consuming. Using this method, we were unable to track any data or analytics beyond likes. We appreciate being able to see the total number of impressions we receive each week, compare posts from last week vs this week, and discover which posts perform better. Hootsuite is also very helpful as it suggests high-volume post times when scheduling. This helps us to post at the perfect time of day to reach as many viewers as possible. Hootsuite can also occasionally help us to create captions using their AI tools within the scheduler, which saves us time. Overall, Hootsuite is a great tool for efficiency in the social media space.
Pros
Provides Data & Analytics on individual posts & your account as a whole.
Allows you to schedule posts in advance and plan out your social media calendar.
Gives recommendations on times to post to reach the biggest audience.
Cons
I would like to be able to compare impressions/ engagement across weeks.
There are functionalities that I am sure would be helpful to us that we do not know about / do not know how to use. So, more information on features would be great.
Recommendations on content/current trends.

Hootsuite is the perfect tool for scheduling social media posts and gaining insights into your performance.
I use Hootsuite to manage my clients' social media calendars, schedule posts, and do monthly reporting. I have a lot of clients across various channels, so having everything in one place allows me visibility across the board. I have to customize client reports based on their specific KPIs, so Hootsuite lets me do this and pulls data from the selected platforms to show month-on-month growth.
Pros
Custom reporting.
Editing the post to create different variations per channel.
Scheduling and allowing push notifications.
Cons
I would like to be able to change colors on the report for each client, and introduce a red-amber-green system.
More topics for the social listening tool and updates relevant to my brands.
More options for posting and editing stories.

I feel like Hootsuite is well-suited to agencies, but might be too expensive for smaller brands that need a scheduling tool. It does require a bit of prior knowledge of scheduling tools, so novices might find this tool more difficult to use. But if there is a larger, more corporate company with satellite accounts, it is great to see activity across socials.
We use Hootsuite daily to manage inbound messages such as direct messages and comments. We schedule content on our social platforms via Hootsuite weeks, or even months, ahead of time - saving us valuable time that would otherwise be spent posting manually. Hootsuite serves as a one-stop-shop for us to view analytics, manage inbound messaging, and scheduling content - making it an invaluable tool for our team.
Pros
Content scheduling
Analytics
Inbox (direct messages and comments)
Content tagging and reporting
Cons
More customization with tagging
More customization with inbox
More detailed results with analytics

Hootsuite is well suited to most social media teams looking to streamline processes and workflow. It can help a one-person social team to a 20-person social team. The ease of use swapping between content scheduling, responding to comments, and pulling reports makes it a valuable source of productivity and insight for anyone.
As a small nonprofit organization, we use Hootsuite to manage our organization's multiple social media platforms. It is especially helpful when our comms manager is on vacation, that our social media can be well-managed during that absence and our branding and messaging continues. Hootsuite saves us time and staffing costs.
Pros
Scheduling and publishing our social media content on one platform.
We really appreciate Hootsuite's centralized inbox, which allows us be responsive to engagement in the most efficient way possible.
In a small organization where the staff is small and the "to do" list is long, Hootsuite's content library really comes in handy. We have often used the post templates, GIFs and graphics to help when we need to put something together fast.
Cons
There is a steep learning curve to learn about using all of the various features in Hootsuite, which is why we only have one team member using this platform.
We've also had occasional issues with the platform not posting our content.
Hootsuite's customer service has not always been as helpful as we'd hoped, especially when you are not the primary user of the platform and you are struggling to speak the digital marketing language.
Likelihood to Recommend
Hootsuite is helpful for us in coordinating multi-platform advocacy campaigns. This helps us to save staff a tremendous amount of staff time and it provides a streamlined approach to keep our messaging consistent. Where it is not as helpful is that Hootsuite is fantastic for managing content, but it is not an organizing platform. In addition, Hootsuite helps with branding and consistency of messaging, it is not a platform for community building and relationship management.
We switched to Hootsuite from Sprout social, and it was a good switch for our organization. We were needing a more cost effective social media platform, that still allowed us to have multiple seats and over 20 profiles, and Hootsuite fit just that. We utilized the scheduling and inbox the most on the platform.
Pros
Combined Inbox
Easy Scheduling
Easy DM automation setup
Cons
There were several failed posts with errors on hootsuite's end
Hootsuite has significant delays in implementing new Meta features (still waiting over a year for some.)
Likelihood to Recommend
Hootsuite isn't flexible to grow with your teams needs, but is a great tool for a smaller team. The combined inbox is super easy to use, but the app often has issues actually publishing comments/DMs.
We primarily use Hootsuite for high level analytics and we are also leveraging the RSS plugin to automate our secondary social accounts. We are a media site that operates over 100 social accounts so the RSS functionality has been crucial to keeping these accounts active and relevant. The analytics and custom dashboards are also useful.
Pros
Analytics
Custom Reports
Automation
Cons
Accounts frequently get disconnected and it's often hard to tell if they have been reconnected or not
User management is a bit clunky
Likelihood to Recommend
Hootsuite is well suited for social teams of any size to streamline their analytics, content planning and publishing. It's easy to use and does the important things well enough across the board.
Being able to schedule posts is a game changer. It allows me to get ideas out of my head and off of my to do list without keeping tasks and reminders that would have to last for weeks at a time.
Besides that, a high-visibility calendar lets us see at a glance when we're light on social media content, and even more importantly, when we're too heavy and when something might get lost.
Pros
Scheduling posts
Managing multiple social media profiles across platforms
One stop to manage comments, replies, and messages
Cons
Post suggestions that connect to current events
Post suggestions that integrate local content
Dark mode

Anyone who is scheduling posts should be using Hootsuite. Anyone who wants to send identical or similar content to multiple platforms should be using Hootsuite. Anyone who manages multiple social media accounts should be using Hootsuite.
Your time is worth so much more than an investment in Hootsuite. Don't think twice about it.
We use Hootsuite to centralize social media management for most of our clients. It helps us manage multiple social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc., in one place instead of having to log in to each individually. We use it to schedule social media content in advance, manage posts, and coordinate content across channels from a single dashboard. We also use its analytics and reporting tools to track soft metrics such as engagement, reach, and CTR, which help us optimize our content strategy.
Pros
Scheduling social media content in advance and publishing across different social media channels.
For organizing the content approval process.
Analyzing soft metrics across channels to build social media strategy.
For creating custom reporting.
Cons
Limitations in approving posts, scheduling posts, or reviewing analytics feel hard to use on a mobile device.
Custom reporting combinations does not give granular reporting.
Features such as sentimental analysis and cross-platform audience breakdowns can be improved.
Likelihood to Recommend
Hootsuite is well-suited for agencies managing multiple clients or scheduling multiple posts regularly across different channels. It's also appropriate for companies where the review process isn't streamlined or well-defined. But it's not well-suited for small brands that aren't regular on social media or for brands that focus heavily on real-time or trend-driven content, like TikTok or Twitter.
