I use Hootsuite to schedule posts for my business unit. I am responsible for scheduling posts aligned with the products in my business unit, and must coordinate the posting calendar with other BUs in the Division. I also use it to pull metrics and look at analytics specifically for my posts and report back to leadership of the Business Unit. A central person manages our account and high-level analytics and metrics. This tool helps us post in an organized way since there are multiple people posting under one social media account. The tool also allows the Division level manager to keep an eye on what is being posted and when without micromanaging or slowing down the posting process.

Cons
- UI is clunky and hard to navigate
- Glitches when posting (tagging not working, previews not displaying correctly)
- Too many features that go unused in our case (and I could see the same for other orgs)
- Reporting/ROI is well above me at my organization. Seems to suffice the needs of people in these roles.
This tool allows us to maintain an organized calendar and have insight into what others are posting under our account in a given week/month. I work at a large organization where sometimes I find out what other Business Units are doing or promoting solely based on being able to see their content in the Hootsuite calendar. Our admin seems to be able to easily review and approve posts from the various contributors. I can't speak much on audience engagement, as that is centrally handled.
Seems pretty similar, but I haven't taken a deep enough dive into each tool to do a direct comparison. I've used both Sprout Social and Hootsuite across two different roles for posting and basic analytics, and they both do the job.
